That's what I'm afraid of because on other rifles/guns they make a big deal about recoil lugs sitting forward in the Picatinny rail, etc... and then with the Micro S1 and Acro S2, they basically grip the vent rib with carbon reinforced plastic panels. I don't see how its going to not slide a bit under recoil unless you deform the carbon plastic into the vent ribs. Even then with 12 gauge recoil it will have a propensity to move/slide.

My 2012 M2 Comfortech is the same way with the rib. It's not perfectly flat underneath. And I always questioned how the S1 would stay put under recoil considering there is no recoil lug. Have you made any progress with this? I was contemplating buying the S1 but your experience has put me off from it

You're think of the Acro S2 that just released. The Micro S1 was revealed during SHOT 2017 and has been out for years. I've also seen some vent-rib mounts for pistol dots and other stuff.

I have an older M2 Field (2012) that does not have a rail or any receiver holes for mounting optics. I've just been using a Tru Glo bead all this time and only use it for shooting trap. I just discovered they have optics for mounting directly to the vent rib, like the Aimpoint Micro S1 and Acro S2. I was wondering if anyone has used these for clays/trap? Does it get in the way or actually help? I've also been running a SilencerCo Salvo 12 suppressor (6" configuration) so any extra weight is not something I'd look forward to, but I mainly use the suppressor to cut down a bit on the recoil/concussion as well as to help new shooters not be intimidated by 12 gauge.

So it's been over 7 years and the same Nordic spring is working fine on my M2. I usually go through 250 to 500 shells in one session and never had a feeding malfunction.

I use Break-Free CLP because that is what I use for everything else, and the military uses that style CLP for their small arms.

I've only heard about possible issues with light loads (7/8 oz, 1 oz) on the inertia systems. I've only used 1-1/8 oz through my new M2, and it cycled them all just fine and this is 2.72 dram and 3.00 dram.

The Nordic clamp on my Benelli M2 does the same thing, it bends the magazine extension tube upwards towards the barrel. I am using a Nordic +5 extension tube.

I adjusted the drop on my Benelli M2 (went from the factory B to C for a 5mm drop) and wondered whether I should use blue threadlocker on the 13mm nylock nut in the rear of the stock. Benelli didn't seem to use any, and there's both a split lock washer and nylock nut to hold it in place. Any thoughts?

I almost got my thumbnail torn off with the stock carrier. I understand that if I loaded slowly and carefully, it wouldn't be a problem. But just in practicing faster loads, I almost got it torn off. It took me 5 minutes to install the new C-Rums carrier, which was surprisingly easy to install. The only 2 springs that should be removed aside are the hammer and carrier springs, which are easy to disassemble. I noticed that with my C-Rums lifter, the front was already bent downwards and is short enough to clear the follower. I am still leery about loading fast because of my painful experience with the stock lifter - but it seems to work very well. It loaded all of my metal A-Zoom snap caps manually, and I still have to test everything out at the range.

The Nordic spring is 45" OAL. If the Benelli OEM "Long" spring (60479) is 39" OAL, then that would make it 22.5" longer than the +5 extension tube on a M2. Nordic recommends a length of 12"-16" beyond the extension, so I cut my Nordic to 14" beyond the +5 extension which is about 30.5" OAL. It sounds like going with a cut Nordic spring is still the best route for those going with an extension tube.

I tried loading my M2 Field for the first time yesterday and OUCH. Now I know what is meant by Benelli thumb. My thumb tip fit perfectly in that crescent cut in the carrier and luckily I only scratched the thumbnail slightly. Where can I buy a modified carrier/lifter? I am surprised that the aftermarket isn't as plentiful as I'd think it would be for these kind of parts.

I bought about $250 worth of parts and turned my 21" M2 into a close replica of the M2 3-Gun edition. The only major difference is that mine doesn't have the Nordic bolt release or the high speed stuff they did to the receiver and moving parts group.

I called GG&G and asked about the screw thread size to see if I could possibly use the GG&G catch for the Nordic Components button. They actually told me that the stock catch was too weak to drill/tap and that the GG&G catch uses a piece that is welded to the stock catch.

I contacted Nordic and Benelli. Nordic says the M2 3-Gun indeed uses Nordic parts (the bolt release button). Benelli claims that Nordic ships them/the shop all of the parts ready to go, however Nordic said they don't do any modifications - they just ship them the parts - and that they don't tap the standard release catch nor do they sell one. It sounds to me like Benelli just has their custom shop drill and tap each catch for the Nordic button. It sounds like getting replacement parts would be a pain because they'd have to one-off each part as needed.

I just placed an order for the GGG. I wanted to keep it looking slick like the Nordic Components and the Benelli M2 3-Gun edition, but it seems drilling/tapping the stock release is the only way to get the NC button to work. The GGG seems to have almost all positive reviews. I wear gloves while shooting so I am not worried about skinning my knuckles, although I am curious if the GGG will rub against the receiver causing it to mar the finish?

I found those in a search before, and a few users complained about the poor workmanship on the Tac2, and the GG&G seemed to rotate under force?

So no one is selling a pre-tapped release? It just seems to make more sense for me to keep my factory release and buy one that is ready to drop-in like a Nordic kit.

Does anyone know if the oversized/ergonomic bolt release from the M2 3-Gun model will retrofit onto the M2 Field? If so, where can I purchase this replacement part? It looks just like the Nordic Components release, but it has been drilled and tapped at the factory. I'd like to just buy the 3-Gun release from somewhere and install that on my M2, vice having to modify my existing release.
