1. I agree with StrangerDanger, sell it and let someone with more money then sense buy it You already have an M4 to replace it, why have two, this will probably not be a highly collectible item in the longer haul...
2. Ya I saw that, I see some people saying not to use this type of product on blued finishes or blueing, would the barrel of the M4 and bolt finish be affected by this? Seeing as they are not stainless and do have a finish to them, don't want to make a minor cosmetic issue worse. I was able to get most of it off by just using a toothbrush and clp with some good scrubing however some of the lead specks on the outside of my barrel and bolt are on there pretty good.
3. Well just took my new M4 out to the indoor range this weekend, will take it outdoors to really put a lot through it soon, shot 50 slugs through without a single hitch or hiccup, ran well and shot accurately. Loving the gun so far, can't wait to get outdoors and really put some rounds through it. While cleaning it today I used a copper brush through the barrel a little too close to my clean rag and a couple other parts and got some oversprayed lead on my bolt and my cleaning rag which then transferred some lead specks onto the outside of my barrel, nothing dire but nonetheless would like to know if theres any way to clean these pesky lead specks off. CLP doesnt seem to be doing the trick and even scraping with my fingernail aint doin the job. Any recommendations on a solvent or process to possibly remove these lead specks? Thanks guys!
4. Got in an e-mail from S&W a couple hours ago, great link, type in your info and it sends a pregenerated e-mail to every relevant representative to your state, city, etc. Seemed better then some of these I had seen in the past. Heres the link: http://www.elabs10.com/c.html?ufl=2&rtr=on&s=x8pb9d,1d3jg,4oku,jp3n,chde,3o0e,f43l
5. Some pics also, Paid 175$ out the door at brownells and got the newer softer and more ergnomic grip from Mesa Tactical directly and replaced it. Will keep this up here for another few days otherwise will send back to brownells. 165$ Shipped if anyone wants it post here or direct message me .
6. New M4 owner here and getting all my ducks in a row, this is a brand new Urbino Stock with the cheekriser and limbsaver, also since I'm local, had Mesa replace the grip with their new and improved softer rounder replacement grip. I installed it on my new M4 but decided I prefer the LOP and look of the factory stock and will opt to go with a geiselle hammer or FFT hammer for my 922r compliance. Includes everthing and is in mint and never fired condition, literally purchased about two weeks ago. 170$ Shipped
7. Looking for some advice, I ordered a VTAC MK2 Sling but of course before its here I'm already digging and finding more things to spend money on... Also interested in checking out the BFG Vickers sling and wonder what everyone prefers. Also interested in thoughts on going with QD mounts as opposed to the standard stock pocket mount in the rear and standard front mount, I see that mesa tactical offers for the urbino a QD swivel it appears for inbetween the stock and receiver, also found a link to this, http://noveskerifleworks.com/cgi-bin/imcart/display.cgi?item_id=ben-qdsp&cat=147&page=1&search=&since=&status= which looks like it would possibly be compatible in the pocket area of the urbino stock possibly? I cant seem to find any solutions on how or where you would put a QD Swivel on the front of the stock if you wish to run a 2 point option which is what I think I would prefer. Let me know your thoughts and ideas for a front QD Swivel mount.
8. Ditto, just got the 1/2 " Ti from FFT, very nice part in my opinion, haven't fired with it but nonetheless seems like a very well produced product, got their top rail as well which also is a great part in my opinion. I think the Carrier Comp is 1/2" as well from what I understand.
9. What are your thoughts on the Urbino stock? I ordered the Urbino with limbsaver, some of the reviews and the gap behind the trigger group have me wondering about it now, I like the idea of shorter LOP and the 922r compliance and unfortunately in Cali I don't have the option of the collapsible. Could always switch out the trigger to also gain 922r compliance? I guess I'll just have to give it a go, thankfully brownells return policy is great if its not up to snuff.. I too have slight OCD when it comes to my guns and if there is in fact a gap behind my trigger group it will probably keep me up at night..
10. Thanks! Been lurking for the past couple weeks and obsessed with my new m4. Marcy from CC says my order should be invoiced soon hopefully which is supposed to mean that even tho I don't have the tube I am officially the owner of the metal and this would pre-date any new regulations... still nervous none the less as those extra two rounds are mandatory. Let's hope the NRA and our gun-lovers in congress will hold the line.
11. What are people's thoughts on the FFT Ti full mag tube vs the Carrier Comp? I have Kip's parkerized tube on order from a couple weeks ago but the wait time makes me somewhat nervous with the push for stricter gun controls.. I ended up ordering the top rail and charging handle from FFT as theres no ETA on Kip's handle or rail.
