Great sow...and info....I own so many 338s......from the win mag to rum and the real beast 338-378 wby......talk about muzzle blow back!........You know all 5 of them prefer 210 gr SP Partitions and 200/210 gr ballistic tip ammo.....better for my shoulder.....absolute sledge hammer on game......

Cant believe people dont clean their guns...this is such an easy gun to clean...just remove forend and retaining ring and spray down with a good solvent....dry....spray with rem oil...put back....run a few passes of a bore snake .....done....5 minutes...tops. Sorry i clean every one of my guns after every use.....twice a year even if it sits unfired in my safe.....and I have 100 plus .........that's ALOT of cleaning....and safes.......

I would agree to hyperclean that chamber and do a chamber length measurement.....all my Sakos have match chambers and won't accept longer cartridge lengths....wonder if Benelli is the same......prevents people from using over pressured ammo....most autos won't accept over spec loads....why Hornady specifically stated in their light magnum loads that not to be used in semi autos.....so beware before you ream......besides reaming your chamber will absolutely void any warranty...

Has anybody else noticed that due to the 2 piece forend design that hand placement on the forend is crucial? I found that a light hand grip on the very rear of the forend improved accuracy from 4moa to 1moa at 100yds with Speer 180 gr SP bulk buy ammo.....for those wondering how to improve your accuracy just try shifting your hands and avoid the sand bag in front....you wouldn't carry it into the field....so impressed with the 30-06 went and bought the 270 wsm.....

Hey there found that the R1 with its 2 piece stock is very sensitive to front end pressure on the fore end.....need to apply a light grip to the rear of the forend....just like a lever action....mine went from 4 in groups with many fliers to 1 in groups with 180 grain speed SP ammo.....bulk buy....I know it hates all ballistic tip ammo so it likes the cheap stuff....probably will shoot partitions and A frames well......my 2c.... .
