My understanding is that you do have to have your name, city and state engraved in an easy to find (not disassemble firearm) location with specific minimum font size and depth.  After all, you are technically the "manufacturer" of the firearm.

It's one of those things. I think you're supposed to, but I personally don't know anyone who has, other than one guy I know with a trust.

Obviously what I said did bother you because your wrote a novel in response. You know, holsters do a pretty good job of keeping things within easy reach too. I love the mental image you gave me of RAKING trash out of your car to burn while drinking a beer.

Naw, I wrote a long response because I literally had nothing else to do. And you're welcome for the mental image ☺️

Please explain this to me, though: I'm currently working in one of the worst neighborhoods of New Orleans. A vast majority of that is me sitting in my stationary car.  The gun is on the seat so I can easily grab it if some thug rushes up on me. What good would a holster do me? What kind of advantage would I gain?

What's wrong with burning stuff and drinking beer? It's relaxing for me. Sometimes I even piss in the fire ?

I bet you're one of those guys that leaves comments on youtube videos of someone doesn't show the weapons clear, rack it 6 times and stick their finger in the chamber, ain't ya? ?

I like what you did with the heat shield. There's only one person that needs pleasn' here. I've been  ?****** rigging things all my life. More power to you.

    My 2cents................................

Same here. Ranger bands are made for a reason.

    Thank ya, Sir

Agreed. There's a loose revolver sitting on the passenger seat, absurd amounts of garbage, and that's the way you choose to photograph your Benelli with a shit plastic heatshield.

Oh, your words cut like a knife. ??

What's the revolver gonna do, start walking around shooting people? ?? Ever think perhaps there's a reason it's right there within easy reach? There is. But you're too caught up in your internet snobbery to consider it, sorry about that. It has to make life tough.

And yeah the heat shield is plastic but it works and stays in place. I don't like the offerings on the market that provide a heat shield. Good enough for me.

I don't own this shotgun as a status symbol, I want functionality.  I'm not some wannabe operator so I don't use gloves when I'm just out having fun shooting it. The heatshield comes in handy. Looks like crap, but works.  Again, sorry about your snobby lifestyle.

I literally spend close to 16 hours a day in my car, 6 days a week. I clean it at the end of the week. I pull up by my burn pit, rake it out, then that evening burn it and drink a few beers. It's a routine. You don't ride in it so why do you care?

Hopefullt this satisfies your holier than thou internet snob concerns. If not, or even if it does, you can still get bent. ?

  5. Doesn't look great, but it works. Plastic shield I had lying around, for a Mossberg. Cut off the lips on the breech end, used a ranger band. 2800$ gun - $25 heat shield. ?

I was going to get the briley 3 gun forends but I like the fit and feel of oem.

Any reason not to go ahead and get the 7 rnd esstac card?  Looks like it would fit nicely.

From my experience i assume it's just personal preference. I use the 7 and it's pretty much perfect. Nothing in the way, etc.

  7. Sweet. Tomorrow I'm finally gonna be able to run it a bit with the new spring, I'll finally let you know if the issue is fixed. I ordered the limbsaver pad and followed your tutorial. I was babysitting a warehouse last night, which just happened to have a drill press and screwerdrivers, as well as the proper screws & lock tite. They even had silver sharpie ?

Excited to see how the recoil feels now

The issue with light main springs is they might not have the energy to reliably chamber a round. The carrier can hang up with a round on the elevator and it might not have the energy to force the round into the chamber. As you get close to the edge of function, things like improper stance can cause it to fail. The user then usually has to slap the bolt handle forward to get it into battery.

Yeah I think I'm gonna pass on it. It does what it's designed to do now technically. Go screwing with stuff then it won't don't anything right. I've always steered away from lighter than oem springs. Except on my Beretta 92fs. HAD to replace the firing pin spring.

I think some people just get unlucky. My M4 ran light loads without any issue from day 1, but I've read about a lot of people experiencing what you are. Because mine runs fine, I never tried a lighter spring. My only small suggestion would be to also make certain you have a good shooting stance. A weak shooting stance might throw you back just enough to not give the light loads enough recoil. Your stance might be perfect, I'm not assuming anything. But just wanted to put it out there just in case. Hopefully someone else here will be able to speak on lighter springs.

I'm fairly certain it's gonna get better with time as it breaks in more. Just a minor annoyance right now. Guess I'm just not one of the lucky guys that got the runs right out the box guns. But t least it's black and not blue ?

  10. Ok so I'm at well over 400 rounds of high brass loads and other various loads. High brass stuff nothing has been less than about 1250 fps. My M4 is flawless with high brass but still isn't cycling low brass very well. About 3 out of every 7 won't cycle. I've cleaned and lubed it well, and I'm aware it needs to be broken in, just thought it would be there by now.

Are lighter recoil springs viable and reliable? I want to run cheap stuff for plinking and it still be reliable with everything else.

If not it's not a huge deal. I understand the design of the weapon and what it's role is. Ultimately as long as it functions fine with buckshot I'm happy but it sure would be fun to have it run flawless with light loads.

buy the VTAC MK2 and save $45 and have a sling that actually works

Excellent choice. That's become my go-to sling for rifles and shotguns.

  12. I dunno man...  Over the years I've been tempted to order from them, but there are just too many horror stories and bad (read: scathing) reviews, so Ive just avoided them.
