  1. I have a Holosun 507 pistol optic on my M4. It's on a super-low Scalarworks Sync plate so I can actually cowitness with the irons. At 25yds, even with sub-par ammo, I can get three slugs into a 6" circle or smaller. I've put probably 5k rounds through the gun in this configuration and I love it.
  2. Wow. I really appreciate your assistance! Yes - I was able to remove the bolt, and I was hoping it was as easy as you say. Phew. I didn't want to start hitting it or poking it without some knowledge. Back to the stock handle I guess. Yeah - I bought your titanium charging handle and almost lost it a couple of times. 😕 That's when I learned that newer guns have this variability. It's a shame. I love my M4 but just wish there were a couple of minor tweaks.
  3. I literally had this happen to mine today. Could not believe it. This happened during shooting - I wasn't manipulating it etc. Our first exercise was to port load a round so I hadn't worked the charger handle at all. Maybe a dumb question: how do you get the piece of broken charging handle out? I also have the RX Arms charging handle: work of art but doesn't stay in my gun (apparently there's some variability between M4s).
  4. I discovered that this QD attachment fits the MR-1 with a little bit of work. I used a hand file to bevel/chamfer the edge of the sling attachment where it meets the trigger guard. No modifications to the gun needed and 100% reversible. I wonder if some of the other SuperNova parts would work???
  5. I seem to have a habit of reviving antique threads... but I just wanted to say thank you for this great guide. I followed it today to replace my stock 5 shot mag with a Carrier Comp 7 round titanium tube. Firstly: holy crap they make a *really* nice product - it's worth the wait. Highly recommended. Secondly: I did not remove the stock. I had previously removed the stock to install a GG&G rear QD clip and it was a tremendous PITA to get the stock back on; and have the trigger group slots line up. Otherwise: pretty smooth.3
  6. I guess we're the last active MR-1 users ... Here in NY State it's a compliant rifle out of the box, and if you're lucky enough to have some 5-rd factory mags then it's also New York *City* compliant. Very very few 5.56mm options that meet those requirements. Yeah - the CX-4 rail doesn't fit as well since the forends are similar but not identical. It's good enough for my purposes but I would really have preferred the real deal. I was told by the Canadian stores that *if* they get items in stock they won't ship to USA. Shame. I even thought about going to the Beretta showroom in Manhattan and asking them if they'd order for me lol. But I think they are trying to sell $5000 competition guns, not $150 misc parts.
  7. Still adding to this old topic but I was able to successfully attach a Beretta CX4 Bottom and Side Accessory Rail kit (SKU: E00270) with the long Beretta side pic rails (SKU: EU00007) to my formerly bubba'd MR-1. I needed to make a small steel backing plate to go inside the forestock. The plate needed two threaded holes of the same distance apart as the holes in the side pic rails. I drilled two holes through the forestock and attached the pic rail with screws: use the correct length! If anyone is interested in trying this let me know. I'll post some pictures, and a copy of the CAD drawing, plus specs for the screws. (I used an online machining company to make the backing plate.)
  8. Sorry to resurrect a thread from the grave, but I recently used the Beretta CX-4 Storm tri-rail: https://www.beretta.com/en-us/gun-accessories/rifles-carbines/rails/beretta-cx4-bottom-and-side-accessory-rail-kit/ Beretta part number E00270 With the Beretta lon accessory rail: https://www.beretta.com/en-us/gun-accessories/rifles-carbines/rails/beretta-long-aluminum-cx4-storm-picatinny-side-rail/ Beretta part number EU00007 On my Benelli MR-1 I had to manufacture a metal plate to go inside the forend for hex screws to bolt into.
  9. I know this thread is incredibly old... but hopefully I can bring some joy to any MR-1 owners out there. I bought an old MR-1 on GunBroker. It had been badly Bubba'd. They'd taken off the rear sight. They used some bad glue to attempt to attach Pic rails on the forend! Anyway - the good news is that I was able to clean the glue off. Still no tri-rail so I think I'm going to end up drilling holes and bolting on Magpul aluminum pic rails. As for the rear sight: I took a gamble and bought an LPA Sights BAR11RD5 from a USA distributor. https://www.lpasights.com/en/products/bar11rd5/ I got rear sight screws from Midwest Gun Works - but it looks like I bought the last ones. Maybe screws from a Benelli shotgun would work? The sight fits perfectly and yesterday I took it to the range - it was basically perfect out to 25 yards - sufficient for my needs.
