Phlyan Pan
Ok so I've got a supersport with the extended crio chokes. Some of them say "steel ok" and some of them say "no steel". I'm doing some coyote hunting and I'd like to run buckshot through it. So if I have copper plated buckshot is it ok to run that through the "no steel" tubes or no? tucker301
It's OK, but your best patterns are going to be with the larger chokes for buckshot. I'd go with IC or Skeet.
Phlyan Pan
Awesome. Thanks for the help. As a side note...what is it about these chokes that makes it so you can't shoot them with steel? Will it cause damage of some sort or does it just make a crappy pattern? Why? MikeB
Steel generally patterns one size up IF the choke is a lead spec choke. This thread has very good explanations. http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17108&highlight=steel+chokes
