I have Lightfield 2.75s and they "recommend" a rifled barrel or choke but do not require it, also they are not recommended for 3.5 chambers. Without the spin you may not get proper sabot discharge, probably their basis for vehemently demanding a rifled barrel.

Looking to sell a slug barrel complete with fore end, weaver bases and Bushnell Elite 3200 scope with Firefly reticle. All for $600. I had it for 2 years maybe 40 rounds fired. $450 without the scope. Shipping included IF in continental 48 states. Not greatly interested in selling scope until barrel is sold.

I've used Outlaws for several years now. Only issue is that when a bird gets up close and say in line with the decoy it suddenly "disappears" and causes the bird to be alarmed. Toms are dead by then but if it is a hen the jig is up. What is nice about them is they are less than 1/8 inch thick and a flock of 5 carries really easy.

I've owned Jennings, Oneidas and High Country. I shot all of them very well. Bows nowadays are made well, find a bow shop that will let you shoot various models before you buy. At the end of the day proper form and shot placement is all that matters. By the way, bow hunting the rut is an awesome time in the woods.

I like Hastings brand chokes. They work well with Winchester Supreme and Hevi-shot. Someone may correct this but "tags" assist in a search.

Sorry on the velocity comment, my thinking was inline with rifles. Second on MattD's comment. I have been complained to about the noise level.

Good for quick shots at close range. Good for carrying in heavy brush. Good for turkey in case you need to swing and change direction. Can be bad for longer range shots, shorter barrel=lower velocity. Can hamper follow through on pass shooting.

There is info on the net about fitting a shotgun. Improperly fitted guns can increase felt recoil and misses. If you do not want to do it yourself, spend the money and have it done professionally. Find someone who fits for sporting clays/trap/skeet shooters. A pro will fit you correctly and you may learn something that makes you a better shot along the way. At least with the SBE2 you have adjustments with the comb height and length of pull.

Ground it off because power tools are fun! That and if you remove any screw you should replace it with something to plug the hole because not doing so is just stupid. If that weren't the case guns would be sold without plugs in the holes for scope mounting and other accessories. So search the world over for a plug for the hole were the mid bead is or grind it off in 30 seconds. To each his own.

Get one! You will never miss the second and third time quite like you will with a Benelli:D

Hmmm! Just read another post where the gentlemen did not prefer SSTs. No personnel experience with them. I've only used Brenneke and Lightfield. I guess that's why you should always shoot your gun preseason.

Yep, it irritated the piss out of me. Ground it off with a Dremel. Still shoots just fine. Only had an issue with it when I tried to use the shotgun like a rifle: i.e. turkey and deer hunting.

Less restriction the better, like cylinder or improved cylinder. Start wide open and move tighter. You can really use any slug just make sure they are OK for 3.5 in. chambers. Lightfield 2.75 hybrid sabots are not recommended for 3.5 inch. You can purchase rifled chokes that do improve accuracy. The question is how far of a shot can you take where you hunt. Rifling will extend your capability, but a smooth bore will be good to 50yrds, expect around 4 inch groupings sighting down the beads. At the end of the day all that matters is what can you and your SBE2 do consistently well. There are other threads here that address this question in great detail.

Cylinder or IC. If you are wondering what rifling will improve get a rifled choke tube. It will be 10% the cost of a slug barrel/foreend/bases/rings/scope. Plus the rifled choke tube will unlock the world of saboted slugs. Be sure to read the package cuz some sabot slugs in 2 3/4 are not recommend for 3.5 chambers. If you really want a slug barrel, after the new year I may consider getting rid of mine. Still have a few more deer hunting opportunities left:D

Were the rifled slugs from last year or purchased recently? I've had some ammo just not be as good the following season.

Mine is fickle with lubricants. If it has been cold your oil might be gaining viscosity and causing your malfunction, assuming no parts are worn. Benelli does recommend synthetic lubes. The colder it is the thinner the lube should be. I've used a can of Prolong(Automotive) spray and functioning has been flawless regardless of the temp. Just a thought.

Most likely the screws supplied with the bases. The SBE/II slug barrel receiver has a height increase along the grooved sighting plane as you get closer to the barrel. I went back to my gun shop and they gave me longer screws which I had to trim.

I've seen deer get agitated by the presence of turkey decoys during spring gobbler and fall seasons. I have had bucks approach decoys and horn them and does snort them spring and fall. At the least it will take their attention from you. Corn gets my vote.

The hastings rifled choke tube will work better than the IC choke. Especially if you use some adjustable sights that attach to the vent rib. If you are interested I have one that I will sell you. Email me.

I have the SBE 1 and it is the same barrel for your gun. I've used the Lightfield Hybrid EXP 2.75" slugs and got some really nice groups. It always seems that I print two touching and then get a flyer, figure that is ALL me. Do yourself a favor and go to Lightfield's website and do some reading. They provide some really good information about slugs and sighting in. Also, slugs are punishing to scopes so make sure you invest wisely there, something rated for centerfire magnums. Bushnell's Elite 3200 series will do and won't empty a wallet too quickly. PS I tried to give you the link but I'm a newbie and not trustworthy until I've made 5 posts.
