The so-called low recoil barrels are made with 4 ports to send more combustion gasses into the piston.

They are designed to be used with girly loads and have no place in a man's collection.

Sgt. Cathy is holding out for a 410 gauge M4 :p

I was able to get a little behind the scenes info on these barrels and it is my understanding they were dropped from the line as there were some jamming issues - apparently not all low recoil loads are created equal. There was one on GB recently that sold for $270 or so - MSRP on a new M4 barrel is close to $700 - so, from an investment standpoint, that barrel might be good if you run regular loads, but then you might have some durability issues as the set up was for low recoil - maybe too much gas isn't a good thing
