m98evolution
I searched this forum and found some info on mounting a red dot scope to a Nova Tactical but will it work if I have the ghost ring sights or would it work better with the open rifle sights? Thanks in advance!
XCross
I'm not sure how you would find a mount low enough to even make the sights usable.
m98evolution
You mean the red dot would be mounted too high? Those were my thoughts too but Ive read of other members using a weaver mount or even the b-square mount. I have the ghost rings on my M3 and love them and I just got a Nova for the wife, so I thought maybe a red dot would be easier for her. Duggan
Just about every red dot on the market is too tall to cowitness with the stock ghost ring iron sights, and certainly with the rifle sights. Your best bet for a low profile iron sight is either a docter/jpoint/pride fowler/irondot or an aimpoint micro. However, even with these sights you can't cowitness with the irons. XCross
If you're going to use any red-dot, the red-dot is your primary and the irons are backups. In the case in which your red-dot failed, you would completely remove your red-dot and use only the irons.

Which is why it's nice to have a throw lever, quick release mount (which is why it would be nice to have a proper 1913 spec rail etc). But yes, it's one or the other. sneakerfreak602
You can use a red dot but it defintley will not cowitness with iron sights like it would with and AR-15. As Duggan said its one or the other. Best of luck.
