I shoot Win. Hi-Velocity #6's. 2 oz. load. I am going to pattern the Hevi-13 with an Indian Creek .665 choke, this spring, or as soon as the weather warms up here. I have the shells and the choke. It is just too damned cold here now, but that won't last forever. I hope... Mike

yeah man i heard that! its freezing and we are supposed to get 4-8 inches of snow tonight. bleh. Let me know how those hevi's pattern. I have used win. hi velocity #4's but never the 6's. This will be the first time ive ever used 6's. Those black shells are mean man. I think im going to put up some poster board or some big piece of wood and test my pattern inside of a 30 inch circle. Any patterning advice?

I use a turkey poster. Then I shoot at 20, 30, and 40 yards. Make sure that you are rock steady so you can determine if the gun is shooting to a good POI. I'm sure that you will be good to go with either the #5's or #6's. At least by patterning, you will know what you got, and that is important. Good luck... Mike

i like the new name!

I use the same gun for everything. Benelli Supernova 28inch barrel. Thats the only 12 gauge i own. Its my pride and joy! I deer hunt, turkey hunt, coyote hunt, fox hunt, squirrel hunt, rabbit hunt, etc. And i use this ONE gun for it all! why do you ask?

yeah its the only one i got. I got a 10 gauge but its an old topper model H&R..Ive only shot it a couple of times. My SN was a gift from my parents and it truly is a great gun, im just trying to find the perfect combo.

ive got the sluggin down.. now im startin to move on to the perfect turkey pattern. That is why im trying all these different ammo brands and sizes.

Lead 5's, 6's in HD, smaller HD if legal. The new stuff from EM might be very interesting. I've got Magnum Blend on order, but may not be able to use it in some states :(

430 is not too bad with a 10 gauge BPS, but I've seen better!

I'm fairly happy with this pattern at 35 yards with H-13 from a 12 gauge BPS, but I'm still trying to do better. It goes down to around 300+- at 40 yards, and delivers a killing pattern out well past 50 yards.

I like long-barreled pumps for turkey guns, might consider a SN 28" with whatever IC recommends someday....
