Reversing the Safety:SBEII

I have a Right handed SBEII however I shoot left handed. Ive heard its possible to reverse the safety, do I need to buy a new safety or can I still use the stock one? Is it something I can do myself? Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Stock one.

It's a fairly easy thing to do.

I've got a picture somewhere.

Here you go.

Tap out 012A.

Watch 007J fly across room.

Find 007J.

Remove 008A.

Reverse 013C.

Reinstall detent and spring.

The worst part is finding the right tool to press down the spring and still leave room for the pin to go through.

A decent pin punch set is invaluable.

yes...I just realized this. I normally use the punch that came with my otis cleaning kit. Looks like I am going to have to find my set of punches to get one that will fit. Thanks for your help. This forum is an invaluable resource.

Just reversed it myself. It only took me about 5 minutes. Cant believe the gunsmith wanted to charge me $95 bucks for this. Thanks for all your help

No. The Supernova's safety is different.

The spring and detent are loaded below the crossbolt.

I did a Nova years ago and it was a PAIN to get it all back in there.

Yes, the button can be reversed as desired, but it's probably best left up to a gunsmith.
