Nova 20ga Shorter stock

I have a full length Nova 20-ga and would like to give it to my son but he needs a shorter stock.

 

Is it possible to cut the stock down and what would you do then for a butt pad?

You could cut it down and put a limsavers slip on recoil pad. The biggest problem you will have is the stock gets narrower the closer you get to the trigger. How much are cutting off?

If you take the existing butt pad off and look inside the stock you will see a ridge. If you cut the stock down to just before that ridge you can then put a pad that Benelli offers. The same one that come on the Nova youth model. That is how it is done with the Nova that come as short stocked youth models. I believe this only applies to the 20-ga version.
