Greetings from a new member. I am about to purchase my first Benelli shotgun (M4) in the next day or so. I have read that these shotguns are not overly picky as to what sort of shells you run through them.

- That said, is there a preference for 2 3/4" or 3"?

- What ammo manufacturer could be recommended for cheap but decent range shells for practice?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

First 1. LUBE IT WELL

2. HIGH DRAM EQ shot shells to break it in around 100-200 rounds maybe less .

Then you should be able to use any thing you like.

Any part that makes contact with metal to metal that moves when firing your M4, Lube it! except the gas pistons

the bolt carrier slide rail is the main one.

Welcome aboard Ron. I have an M4 (as do many in this forum) and haven't noticed any semblance of "pickiness" from it. As others have suggested, lube it well and break it in with some high-power shells, and you should be good-to-go.

Picked it up today and I must say it put a big smile on my face. :D

Time to purchase some ammo and get to the range.

Thanks for the info guys.
