M4 Top Rail Question

I am planning on replacing the OEM top rail, to mount my LarRue short mount with an Aim Point T1, and have three options.

Side Armour Mod 2 long rail version.

Side Armour new Mod 2 short rail version.

Kips's top rail should be here very shortly.

 

Would appreciate input on how far forward, from the rear sight, the T1 needs to be placed to get a correct sight picture.

I still have the factory rail on my M4. I did purchase a Eotech XPS, and after 10min I put it on ebay. Why? Well, it was almost impossible to get a proper cheek weld with a optic. I know that the Aim Point will sit alot higher than the Eotech. So it may be an issue for you, or not. But I am curious to know, so keep us updated. You may want to look at Trijicons RMR, they sit alot lower, and may work. I think Im going to get tritium night sites and keep it at that.

Are you asking about what eye relief you need? With the T-1, it doesn't matter how far it is from your eye. Just put it wherever.

I just ordered the Side Armor Mod 2 short rail with the 6 shell holder. I have a Leupold Prismatic on a Larue mount and was tired of waiting for the the CC rail. Pics and thoughts when I get it in.
