If you noticed the front Sling attachment plate is turned to the left side of the receiver.

how new are these pictures? if you look closely, i think the front sling attachment is a new design?

mine can be rotated, this one looks to have one loop on each side?

Yeah after looking at the pictures after I posted that comment I noticed it looks like the sling plate is square with slits on both sides.

i suppose it's some sort of update.

 

it also looks like you can't attach the sidearmor rail clamp to it.

What exactly do you mean by sidearmor clamp?

so they are not from an official benelli site? i just wondered, because i've never seen this variation before.

 

the sidearmor rail system is attached to the barrel with a barrel clamp, which is specifically designed to fit the older sling attachment.

You guys are right. It looks like the ring behind the sling attachment (the one on the barrel that slides over the magazine) is shorter in these photos than it is on the M4's we've seen the the past. Notice the flat section above the new new sling mount ... That appears to extend to the length that we're used to seeing; but what should be below it has been cut away.

The pictures are from an old, very wide brochure.

 

Up until now, I had never seen anybody else post these pictures.

 

I bought the brochure on ebay back in like 2005 or so, so that should give you an idea of how old they are.

 

I still have it somewhere ...

i wonder why they didn't keep the dual sling loop in the final design? looks quite sturdy to me, unlike that wobbly POS we've got now.

I'm just thankful that the design variant is from an earlier product catalog, and that it may not have ever been produced and sold with this setup.

 

Not that this setup isn't superior; but I hate it when manufacturers produce variants that cause aftermarket equipment incompatibilities.

You can tell just from looking at the literature that it's old.
