muss1980
I got approval to send the gun to Benelli to get checked out. I was not getting good groups at all. All I know for now is that they put a new barrel, and gas operating system. I will get it Monday. So basically a new gun. Cant wait to see how it shoots now. range rat
Well, that's progress. I am sure that Benelli will test fire your rifle before they ship back to you so you should be all set. Have fun with the redone rifle.
muss1980
It still doesnt shoot to my expectations. Two inches is their okay to send it out. Will try some more loads/bullet weights. Any ideas
tucker301
What are you trying to accomplish? 2" groups for that rifle are within expected ranges. If you want a more accurate semi-auto, then look at either the AR platform or the FNs. If you want cloverleafs, then you'll have to go to a good bolt gun. muss1980
I was hoping for an inch. I guess that i cannot to do this with this gun. I shoot clover leafs and one hole groups with my bolt guns. When this gun first came out it was made out to be the best on the market. It functions great. Just a little disapointed with two inches. If that is what it does that will have to be it.
tucker301
When this gun first came out it was made out to be the best on the market. That's called marketing. Now go and look at FNH's FNAR line. Those are guaranteed to be 1 MOA or better. The R-1 simply isn't built for that kind of accuracy.
range rat
I bought mine used, knowing it couldn't out-shoot my AR or bolt action. But I wanted it for a 100 yard deer gun and it's plenty accurate for that.
