Here's a picture of a scratch on the interior of my M4 receiver. I was learning how to use it today with Snap Caps. Could I have done this? Its very low inside the receiver, about a centimeter above the shell carrier on the interior. Is this a serious issue. If you know about the material that its is made of, what is your opinion? Thanks a lot.

Shoot it more and it'll fill with carbon, then 1) you'll never notice it that much 2) You're having more fun than staring at that scratch (what scratch?) 3) You'll be practicing vs asking questions on the internet! :)

Nah, I know it'd bug me too, but you didn't hurt anything by looks of it! Enjoy the M4!

I hear taps playing in the background. Nothing left to do other than wrap that M4 up in an American flag and bury it 6 feet down. You are banned from purchasing another Benelli for 10 years. SQUAD, ATTENTION !! Hand salute......

I appreciate the SERIOUS responses. (You know who you are). There is no depth to the 'scratch'. It is all a level surface. I think I'll hit it with the touch up paint. I'll be more careful from now on.

What have I learned?... It's not a good idea to try ghost/carrier loading on your first time picking up the shotgun.

You gain a lot of freedom after putting that first deep scratch on your gun. Now you can stop worrying about keeping the gun pristine.
