KB Fab
Found this while perusing some stuff over at The High Road. I particularly like what the mod had to say just before he closed the thread. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=667709
Amsdorf
Thanks for referencing the article, it was written at the invitation of the editorial staff of the blog, "The Truth About Guns" - a great site, by the way. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2012/07/daniel-zimmerman/are-you-too-stupid-for-concealed-carry/
KB Fab
It's better to be registered and/or logged in to read the thread. Otherwise you get directed to an archive copy which is more difficult to read. And while you're over there, do a search for the OP's threads and see how many have been closed and why. Also of interest is the incessant posting of vids and links to a particular channel. Seems kinda familiar for some reason. lol! tucker301
That beatledog guy over there sounds like a fool to me. A firearm is a deadly force weapon. If he doesn't want to use deadly force then perhaps some taser videos are in order.
Amsdorf
Yes, agree, some felt that somehow the concept that deadly force may result when carrying a weapon was an odd idea. On the other hand, the emphasis on "stopping the threat" as opposed to "killing" was wise advice and the right way to proceed. The article generated a lot of helpful and interesting conversation about some basic considerations when making a decision to carry a weapon. I think the discussion on "The Firing Line" was the most helpful, and other places as well, can't quite remember. Led me to do a rewrite taking into account several of the comments/suggestions, which version was then posted in the comments over at TTAG's web site.
