Camo finish

I just picked up my SBE and am wondering about caring for the camo finish. Will oil hurt it it?

Try to keep oils and solvents off the camo parts.

Clean them with a damp cloth and a mild detergent.

Nothing seems to hurt mine except DEET.

 

It gets shiny pretty quick - all film camo seems to do that.

 

It also might wear to white in spots that come in contact with your skin.

I have not noticed any problems with my camo either. I make sure no oil or cleaner stays on the camo. I use a dry cotton cloth barly spraied with cleaner and then whip the camo with a bone dry cotton cloth. ThermoCell goooood.

I have noticed some wear when I put mosquito dope on but its not too bad. Keep it wiped off

and clean.

Try this link. Thermacell is how I should have spelled it. Game animals can't smell it and really works. It's catching on like gangbusters here in Mosquitoville USA.

Bill, thanks for the link I might have to give that a try. The mosquitos get pretty nasty here in MN during the early goose season in September. I don't want to be worrying about my camo finish if there is an alternative to the stink spray!

The only time it's not as effective is when it's windy...but then the skeeters aren't too bad either when it's a blowin'.
