Gap between Barrel and Receiver Benelli M2

I just picked up a new “old style” M2 and noticed a gap between the barrel and receiver. To eliminate the gap, I can push the barrel down and tighten the magazine cap. Which fitment is correct? I will post link to photos for reference. Photos
