cut emnova
alright, besides the obvious difference of the SBE II being able to chamber a 3 1/2. what are the other differences in these 2 fine firearms?
tucker301
Trigger guard, rib supports are pretty obvious. Look closely and you'll see that on the eagle (bottom), the barrel and the top half of the receiver are one solid piece. This makes the sbe2 a bit easier to strip and clean, IMHO. Other than these few items, they are very similar, which prompted your question in the first place. Ultimately, you have to have to ask yourself one question - Do you wanna shoot the most powerful 12 guage autoloader in the world? Well... do ya, punk? threeshot
Differences between M2 and SBEII that I am aware of are listed below. No mid bead (M2) vs. mid bead (SBEII), slope on the receiver vs. a more hump back receiver on the SBE II, the trigger guards are shaped a little differently. Both guns use the same mechanics and barrels. When the SBE II is stripped for cleaning, you have access to the trigger mechanism because the top of the receiver is part of the barrel. This allows easier cleaning of the receiver. Also this makes it easier to remove the trigger assembly for cleaning.
