bensbe12
HI, I HAVE HAD MY SBE 1 FOR 8 YEARS AND AND NO MATTER WHAT CHOKE OR ROUNDS I PUT THRU IT, IT STILL SHOOTS 5" LOW AT 25 YDS WITH A SLUG, #6 OR# 4'S 3.5" TURKEY LOADS, TRAP LOADS OR DUCK LOADS! THE ONLY WAY I CAN HIT ANYTHING IS IF I COMPLETLY COVER THE BIRDS WITH THE BARREL. WHICH MAKES SHOOTING DUCKS VERY DIFFICULT BECAUSE I CAN'T GET THE RIGHT LEAD AND COVER THEM AT THE SAME TIME WITH OUT SEEING THEM. ANY HELP PLEASE AND THANKS IN ADVANCE

tucker301
Following the guide in the owner's manual, change the shims to raise the point of impact. Try the A shim first. I believe that will raise the POI. If possible, make the changes at the range where you can test the results immediately and re-adjust if needed. If you don't have your manual, you can download it from the customer service section of the Benelli website. I've tested many SBE II's from a rest and none are 5" low with the A shim. You could have a bad barrel, it is possible, so maybe call Benelli CS or have a gunsmith boresight the gun (yes, you can roughly boresight a shotgun, not perfectly, but pretty good). mudhen - CA
bensbe12
first i'm looking at a perfect figure 8 with the two ball sights. even if i stack the two i'm still way low(from bench) second it's a h&k sbe not a sbeII, third i have the lazer insert bore sight and it shows the same 5" low at 25yds. can a gunsmith bend it ? Remy
Doesn't matter if it was imported by HK or not---- it is still a Benelli. I would definitely contact Benelli customer service about it. Yes, I know that you have had it longer than the official warranty period, but most reputable gun companies stand behind their products for an unstated time period as long as abuse has not taken place. quackkiller
Benelli customer service has always been very helpful to me. They are very professional and I have always had good luck on both ocasions. I have the HK SBE and I can shoot the lights out. I hate to hear that you're not enjoying your gun. Good luck man.
HH
You are likely correct that your gun shoots low. Not all guns shoot like this. Only another turkey hunter would understand this. for wing shooting it is not as critical because you cann adapt your shooting and you can indeed put shims in it to compensate as to how you mount the gun. But for the precise aiming and deliberate shooting during turkey hunting you have a problem. You can either buy a scope type device or some adjustable sighting devices or you can purchase eccentric chokes ( from Briley) that will raise your point of impact or you can send the gun to someone like Seminole gunworks and have the barrel bent. the last two options are more expensive but very viable to correct your problem Frankly, I wouldnt own a gun that didnt shoot true 50/50 or even 60/40 from "point of aim" to "point of impact" good luck HH
