As I haven't been able to shoot them yet... here goes the next best thing. Hitting the message boards.

The only additional cost that I'm worried about is the 3+1 capacity on the ComforTech M2 Tactical vs the 5+1 on the non-ComforTech M2 Tact. And yes, I do realize that mag extensions are available.

For those of you who own both ComforTech and non-ComforTech... Would you please try and explain how much value you put on ComforTech? And would you be willing to go non-ComforTech for any reasons?

Additional info, I do intend to get a 28' field barrel for birds and clays... and maybe a slug barrel down the road for the WI whitetails.

Any input would be appreciated.

I own a Super Sport and the comfortech system works great. My uncle has an M-1 and it bucks hard and jumps harder. With the M-1, its very hard to get back on for a second shot because of the muzzle jump. My Super Sport hardly moves. Much less recoil and very easy follow up shots. This is my experience with them and I hope this helps.

Yes, The Comfortech in my case was not so good due too 4 degree wheather I was hunting in. The rubber inlays that make it work got as hard as a rock. And the gun kicked like a mule. Not to says that it's not worth it, but with all the hipe, I thought it would be better than it is.

Thats interesting. I never thought about what severe cold would do to it. I guess most recoil pads would get hard in that cold of weather. Do you know of any that would stay soft in sub-freezing temperatures?

I hunted numerous times with my Benelli SBE II with COMFORTECH and it was cold, cold, cold, here in MN. And my gun worked great.

My friends' also had no problem with theirs. So I don't know what to say.

oh, the gun worked great but the cool harden rubber and 1500 fps shot shells made the gun kick like a mule. I know I can add some anti-recoil stuff to the gun to help with that problem.

Yesterday I shot my new nova at a gobbler using #4 shot in a 3 inch shell(i don't believe that the 31/2 inch shell gets you any additional distance just more recoil from the extra 1/4 oz)

Anyway I have the standard recoil pad not the comfortech or gel. When I levelled off on that Gobbler I didn't even feel the recoil !

That turkey bit the dust at 48 yards using a 26 Inch bbl and Mod choke...Awesome ! I think you can kill em out to 55 0r 60 yds.

Please don't try that.

Enough turkeys are lost each year because of people taking foolish shots.
