lutt
I went hunting about a week ago and was not able to clean my gun until today. Some rust on the outside of the barrel that will not come out. I live in Galveston, Tx with the sea air. Any suggestions?
EFLOYD
Can't tell you how to get it off....some of these guys and gals are good at it. But, once you get it back to normal.....wipe it down with CorrosionX, then take a cloth, spray it down with CorrosionX, put it in a ziplock bag, stick that bag in your blind bag.....from now on just wipe the gun down in the duck blind or wherever before putting it back into the case, truck, car, house, cabinet, safe, wherever it is you put it. You shouldn't have any more problems. But....how to get it off, I'll leave that up to the others to explain. Good Luck with it.
dfm
A light coat of Naval Jelly might help. Not too much or the bluing may come off with it. Might consider getting the barrel treated with one of the tougher finishes available today to help with seawater corrosion.
