mudhen
I don't know. I feel no difference. A mercury recoil reducer in the stock works for me, but the ported tubes have no effect that I can feel. But they are good for blowing the eardrums of guys shooting next to you and getting powder in your eye on windy days! Check with Briley - they have good info. mudhen - CA
clay breaker
thanks i got the idea that may they will work because i have a mossberg 500 that has a ported barrel and someone told me that it reduces recoil
bluedavis
I don't think they were intended to reduce recoil so much as reducing the jump. The idea is that the barrel will stay in the target area for the second bird.
M1Super90
blue davis is right, ported chokes and barrels reduce a little recoil but their main purpose is tor educe barrel jump(dont know right word!) something that is important to clay shooters. Also i have heard that ported chokes and barrels create much unwanted noise, and in many cases significant drops in shot velocity
