Liberty or death Jr.
I saw it in a Cabelas catalog a few years ago, I don't know if they still make/sell it.

HDRDKG
I think the short barreled Benelli's look awsome and are very tacticalcoolness. As far as accuracy goes, you aren't going to notice a thing if you use good ammo. At least that was the case on my M1 entry gun.
johnnywitt
It wuold be handy in a vehicle, or just carrying around. Plus you have 4 in the mag (I think) +1+1. 6 rds. in a small pkg. If you had a subgun- not nearly as effective IMHO- you would probably only get about 6 bursts b-4 a reload, admittedly a much faster prospect with a subgun, if the guy with the benelli didn't kill you b-4 you got to reload. With the barrel cut down to 12" and no locking collar will this SBS hold up to much firing?
Liberty or death Jr.
Personally, instead of going through all the trouble with the cutting, converting whatever. I'd be very confident with a 45 pistol that I know how to shoot against another guy with a shotgun. I personally don't think a few inches will change anything with the gun, 12 inch barrel or 18.5, makes no difference to me. You guys feel like doing it, have fun. I was just curious as to why, but now I know.
HDRDKG
I would not go 12". I have a factory 14" barrel and it is just perfect. I can put 5 in the tube, 1 floater and 1 chambered. Thats makes 7 rounds on a shotgun that is only 30" long with the stock in.
johnnywitt
Mostly Liberty, it's just the neato factor and because... well, we just want one. I didn't realize you were 16. Thanks cool to see a younger guy who's into guns and stuff.
Liberty or death Jr.
Been into them since I was born. Love em. I've got no problem with what you guys are doing either, but if I bought an M4, I wouldn't cut anything off of it. I love the way they look. Its cool what you guys are doing, making it more tactical and stuff.
johnnywitt
Yeah I've got 2 of them and want to short barrel one of them. I think the 11-12" guns are too short because then you can't just switch back and forth between barrels because the mag tube is cut. Plus, velocity would probably suffer. They say below 18" you start losing a lot of velocity. Not to mention muzzle blast, recoil, ect.
Liberty or death Jr.
Thats the main reason I asked why you wanted it so short, kills velocity and who knows what else. I don't like my barrels less then 20, but I could live with the M4 18.5.
d
I am planning on having a system with a 18.5" barrel and full tube. 11" barrel and short tube (4+1+1) and then a screw in muzzel brake machined with a collar to make a 14" and standard tube (5+1+1). two barrels, three tubes, many options. On the 11" barrel the handguard retaining/forward sling mount ring would act as the barrel retaining ring. Just something to do.
