M4 Stock Retaining Screw Not Unscrewing

Well, I have the retaining nut out but that is as far as I have gotten. The swing swivel plate should slip out and the stock should pull off, right? But the stock is on solid. The stock retaining piece won't budge either.

Any help would be appreciated.

the stock (the whole plastic assymble) unscrew counter-clockwise after the trigger pack has been removed. There is no need to unscrew any nuts, bolts or anything else. regards-d

Thanks D, it might help reading the owners manual. I saw that with it showing the pistol grip with callapsible stock in the schemetics but had it in my head the pistol grip stock came off like the M3.

I beat myself over the head trying to unscrew that nut too. And then I finally saw (after I got the nut off) that I didn't need to unscrew it.

 

To get the nut off you have to use a heat gun because the factory puts locktite on.

Yeah, I saw the residue of locktite on the threads. After I read the manual thoroughly, I went thru the process in order and it is now off. Now, all I have to do is get a collapsible stock somewhere for a decent price. Probably not any such animal.

According to some author guy on this forum, THIS is a "decent price" or at least "market value".
