  2. I have a box of 25, I haven’t shot them, but the sharp burred edges of the shell make them get stuck in the feeding area when racking by hand. Still need to try them out for real but I’m expecting the gun to not fully cycle the next round.

  3. As much as I like to imagine I’m a tier one operator type, Father Time is convincing me otherwise. I can still manage my M4 competently fully loaded but with a side saddle and seven extra rounds I’m slowing down when it comes to transitioning between targets. I considered a bandolier but I’m not sure that would allow me to get shells out quickly if I needed to. Maybe there’s some type of shotgun shell pouch I could keep with my M4 to throw over my shoulder if I needed?

  4. Hello fellow Benelli fans/owners. I am new to firearms and just purchased a Benelli m4. It will be for home defense. Hopefully, I'll never have to use it. I purchased my m4 at a local gun shop. It was the only one they had and came with the non pistol grip stock. I know the 922r requirements, but I'm still wanting a collapsible stock. I'll replace what I need to with US parts to stay compliant. What I won't do is pay the prices that people are charging for these stocks. $875.00 and up for a $425.00 part is gouging in my opinion. I've found a source for Sulan Arms TAC 12 collapsible stocks. I've written Sulan Arms and they say the stock will fit in the Benelli m4 without modification. So I bought it and it's on the way. Do you think Sulan Arms is just trying to make a sale or there is a possibility of it working? Thank you for your help! ps: if it won't work, is anyone in the market for a Sulan Arms TAC 12 collapsible stock?

  5. Having extra ammo on your gun cannot be beat because in a shit blizzard you may not have time to grab anything but the gun - Quality shotgun cards - https://esstac.com/shotgun/ Buttstock ammo carrier (I'm not promoting this one, only using as an example) - https://www.ebay.com/itm/275013558357?hash=item400815e055:g:HZMAAOSwIJJhgzso Then there are the sling/bandolier combos or the shotshell holder that slips over your forearm (not a fan of either). In a shit blizzard keeping track of a pouch or bag not attached to your body or LBE isn't going to work out very well. Personally, beyond the rounds stowed on the gun itself I'm big on quality bandoliers, the best quality 12 ga. bandolier that I've found is Urban ERT - https://www.urbanertslings.com/50-round-tactical-combat-shotgun-bandoleer-for-the-12-gauge-shotgun/ Urban ERT shotshell holder belt - https://www.urbanertslings.com/30-round-12-gauge-2-shotgun-shell-belt/ Too bad Uncle Mike's quit making this vest - https://www.bluesheepdog.com/uncle-mikes-breacher-vest-review/

  6. Thank you for your comments. I will indeed keep the factory Benelli stock as well as any other parts I end up replacing to meet 922r compliance. I bought a Mesa Tactical Urbino with cheek weld and limb saver and it reduces the LOP considerably, but I just like the look of the collapsible stock. If it does fit, I may not like the way it feels. If so, I won't be out much $. I'll just put the Urbino stock back on.

  7. Yes they're trying to make a buck and yes, there's a distinct possibility it will fit as they've stated. If it were me I'd just keep the standard stock as long as the LOP was correct for me. IMO the only real advantage to the pistol grip is shooting across your chest not shouldered, very limited use. There is a tacticool factor to a pistol grip but it also increases the height of the gun considerabily; your M4 as is will fit in a scabbard easily. Just my 2 cents, YMMV.

  8. Interesting, I shot 7 boxes with zero failures. I didn't notice any burred edges but I'm not the brightest crayon in the box so I may have missed it. I'll try some in a Vepr 12 I have but its never failed either. Maybe that's what the reviewer meant by "inconsistent". I'm going to start a database of actual calipered shell lengths of different brands. I REALLY want 7 shells in the tube!

  9. Here's an idea for a pouch. A reproduction of a WWII shot shell holder. It holds 12 shells and you would have to come up with a strap for over the shoulder since it's designed with belt loops. ?‍♂️ https://www.amazon.com/WARCRAFT-EXPORTS-Canvas-Shotgun-Ammunition/dp/B0856YHMD3/ref=sr_1_75?keywords=sporting+clays+shell+pouch&qid=1636500963&sr=8-75

  11. What I do with mine (14"). -Light (what light depends on my application) on IWC. PID is all. -T2 on a Scalarworks. A dot improves precision, speed, and allows more complete visualization of the target than beads or irons. -TTI safety, black. This safety allows you to go hot by depressing it using the middle ("belly") of your finger either on the way, or into the trigger guard. It's an excellent way to keep the gun safed, finger off the trigger, without compromising time to shoot if necessary. A must have, imo. -Lead faucet tactical sling. A sling is to a long gun what a holster is to a pistol. Admittedly, I remove it for my shotgun as its a snag hazard and mine is mainly used for coyotes near my coop. -OEM aluminum trigger guard. No need, I just like it. Nod to tradition. -Bonus...I replace the LPA rear ghost aperture with an LPA made aperture that lacks wings/dots. Its less visually cluttering and the way the dots line up (mickey mouse) really messes with you if you're used to literally any other dot containing sighting system. These mods are not fancy, but they are things I've learned over nearly a decade and a half and owning around 10 m4s, that actually enhance value and function and make it a better weapon for my uses. The trigger guard is a nod to tradition, I admit, though. Also...take it down, wipe it off very well, this includes the ID bore of the recoil extension. Then lube generously. I have come to strongly prefer cherrybalmz black rifle balm, or better yet, the forward design control version of it. Lube carrier rails, carrier bore, cam pin track, and bolt lugs, as well as the recoil spring and tube. Also, the tang of the barrel. A thick grease works well here if you like. Damps vibration a tad. Not necessarily, but will keep interior of receiver ano a hair nicer a hair longer. I didnt shorten my list to fit the OP. This is my list of stuff to get an m4 sbs up to speed, for me.
