  1. Finally got the 5 position installed. It took about 30 minutes with the heat gun to get the locking nut to loosen up, then another 5 to twist the original tube out. The Regal metal works 5 position tube had a tiny bit of wiggle but barely any so I went ahead and installed it. After about 15 minutes I noticed the buttstock wasn't totally centered but the loctite had already cured enough that I had to reuse the heat gun. Once I got the locking nut backed off the new recoil tube I grabbed the tube with an oven mitt and tried to wiggle it around. It had zero wiggle even with the locking nut backed off, so the loctite alone was enough to remove the small amount of wiggle it had before. As mentioned in the previous post the locking nut tightens everything up nice and solid. This thing is pretty awesome guys, I'm really happy with it.

  2. The Dave's Metal Works oversized safety is the one I prefer the best. The TTI one is alright and feels similar. I didn't care for the Roth one at all. It was way too big. Keeping your finger off the trigger is certainly the most important thing. However, I use the safety when chambered and slung in the field. Murphy has a tendency to sneak up on you and cause some fluke thing to occur where a buckle for a pack gets into the trigger guard, leaning the rifle/shotgun against a tree/rocks and it dumps over and somehow something ends up pressing the trigger. Reaching for the gun in the dark and your fingers end up in the trigger guard is a huge issue. Add the adrenaline of a hunt or a bump in the night and peoples fine motor skills go to crap. Plenty of injured and dead hunters can attest to that happening. I guess the dead ones can't attest to much. Bumps in the night in the field are pretty common. In your mind its either a Skinwalker or a racoon. Even for a handgun, I'll keep the pistol in its holster to prevent any fumbled fingers getting into the trigger guard in the dark. Be it on my night stand or tent/pack/truck camping.

  5. While there are no *known* (at least that I know of) prosecutions for 922(r) violations, disregard the 922(r) regs at your own peril. 922(r) applies specifically to what two posters in this thread are suggesting to do, i.e. change the magazine capacity without the appropriate number of 'Made in the USA' components to be in line with 922(r) compliance. Also, no one should be advocating doing anything illegal on this forum regardless of one's opinion on the statute(s).

  6. I've owned my Nova 3.5" for 9.5 years. For the first few years, I never used it because I shot better with my 870. After warming up to it a couple years ago, it has been very dependable and is my primary bird gun. I recently noticed a barrel bulge just behind the choke tube. It appears to be more prominent on one side of the barrel than the other. I find this odd since I've never fired anything but factory loaded ammo through it, nor have I ever had any squib rounds. I've never mistreated or misused my gun and clean it regularly, and I've only ever used the OEM IM choke tube. I contact Benelli to file a warranty claim and I'm told Benelli does not cover barrel bulges, that it must have been an obstruction or something else.. but it's not their problem. I don't understand how it could be considered my fault if I only used the gun as they intended and took the best possible care of my firearm. I've seen similar issues other owners have had that got covered, why is my situation any different? If thats their idea of customer service, they've lost a good customer for life, and I'll do my best to make sure nobody I know ever buys one. What's the point of having a warranty if you're just going to deny simple claims for normal use? I never had any of these issues with my Remington 870..
