  1. So is Kip still making these? I don't see them on his website.
  2. I thought you were looking to get a suppressor for those silent slug kills....
  3. I've only been here about 6 months, but I'm definitely planning to go this summer. Urbino is about a 4 hour drive (5+ at normal speeds)... Also planned for the summer is a road trip with my son for the opening day of the Gran Prix in Monaco and a Top Gear tour of their quest for the best driving road in the world (ultimately tied between 2 Alpine roads - one in Switzerland, one in Italy).
  4. Only 1998... I wonder when their events are. I guess I need to get on their mailing list.
  5. Yeh, but don't ever make the mistake of calling a Marine lawyer a "JAG" -- if you do, the likely snappy response will be "the only Corps I'm in is the Marine Corps!" They're just "Judge Advocates"... Although I knew a USMC military judge whose vanity plate says "USMC JAG", which he catches a lot of flak for. For some more useless trivia, category: name game -- one of my best friends is a guy I went to boot camp with (I was enlisted first) who was a FMF Corpsman. He got accepted to Marine Corps OCS but was injured in the line of duty before reporting so he got NPQ'd. His last name (which I heard screamed with incredulity before I even met him) is F-A-G-G -- said like it's spelled... His goal in the Marine Corps was to make it to Major, so he'd be Major Fagg, or even General, to be General Fagg.
  6. Okay, so where is the whole other post?? The only thing I can find on the website is a similar reference, but no more info. Got pics? Cost? Availability?
  7. So what's the Code for the Vinci??? Come on, you can tell us, we won't tell...
  8. It seems your deduction powers are at least as sharp as your tremendous machining skills! Yes, I'm a Navy JAG. I used to lurk on this board all the time a few years back, and posted a few times. The Iraq tour (where I spent some time with the Marines and joined the "CAR" club (and came back from, which is why I LOVE the Marine Corps)) and 2 PCSs in under 2 years put a damper on my many pasttimes... The real kicker? I have an 11707 M4 and Franchi Renaissance Elite - both born here in Italy. I was unable to bring them back to their birthplace because Italy has a temporary ban on any importation of weapons (which includes even air soft rifles and police batons...). Apparently the argument -- "They just wanna go home!" didn't work... My wife's response when I told her I could take my shotguns? "Well honey, I'll guess you'll just have to buy some more when you get there..." Is she a keeper or what?? I've been here about 6 months and am LOVING Italy. Once I recover financially from the last year or so (and once I start getting paid for O-4), I definitely plan to plus up my gun collection. I'm told it's very difficult to do here as a non-citizen. I have to get a permit from the Italian consulate I think. I know a couple Italian lawyers who I'll be turning to for assistance on that. If you get a bead on some spares, I'm certain I can assist in getting them back to the U.S. I'd wager that shipping them via FPO is prohibited, but there's an Italian post office close to my house in Pozzuoli. So I didn't get to bring my guns, but at least I got to bring my Vette. Driving it here is a TOTAL blast because they don't really enforce speed limts...
  9. Federico is the model. They were limited edition (only 2000 made)... If I had an extra €850 laying around, I'd grab it in a second... Spoleto is about 3 hours from me.
  10. I found an update on Mesa Tactical's forum about their M4 rail system as of 12/29/2008:
  11. I thought it was MesaTactical that was working on one for the longest time... Been off this board forever, so don't know if they ever completed it, but it's not on their website.
  12. Joe, glad to see you're still at it! Got to say - FANTASTIC product for terrific price!! Got mine over two years ago and couldn't be happier with it!

    Gun Safes

HIGHLY recommend them! http://www.patriotsafe.com/ Best safe there is for the money (and even for lots more money), IMO. Superb quality! I have the closet model because I didn't have room for bigger. It's still pretty roomy considering. Also, when the military transferred me, the movers lost the keys. Patriot's customer service was outstanding! Didn't charge me for the key (which is laser cut so it's gotta cost a pretty penny), not even shipping! When it's time to upgrade to bigger, I know for sure where I'll go...
  14. Been down that road. Benelli isn't selling the buffer tube to their dealers. Probably to avoid some kitched counter gunsmith from ruining their shotgun trying to remove the old buffer tube. Now here's where I don't like what Benelli IT has done. They won't let Benelli USA do custom work. Guess what replacing the buffer tube with an LE version is considered? My local shop is an LE dealer. They said they could order any LE part for me from Benelli that would have been previously banned under the AWB... They don't have to tell Benelli that the customer isn't a LEO.
