ip, I don't belive Benelli imports it in that configuration, so it has never been 'denied', so to speak. But, I don't know. I'm blown out of the water by this post-11th hour disturbance in the force.

I've pretty much made it a policy to get (at least of every gun I put into my 'select' collection. When I saw these, it was a no-brainer, really. Now if they can just get the telestock issue resolved...

stevenb, Someone on AR15.com bought & evaluated the B&T rail, & it didn't deliver. Among other things, gas fouling blows out between the vents on lower end of the rail & onto the shooter. His bottom line: stay away. I'm curious to see what SF will come up with, & I hope it's better than their AR rail, which doesn't line up w/ the receiver picatinny flat top. This Sidearmor unit looks nice, but I still have to see them all before I'll commit. BTW - what M4 "fix" are you referring to?

Fair enough, though I've already stated it prior: Benelli has denied a difference in bbl. profile between M1014 & M4S90 to me, via phone & email; the only thing mentioned was of the choke options available for the latter. Additionally, I can find no mention of a specific "heavy bbl." profile anywhere in any of the company's literature, or even in rag-test articles. I have two M4S90's en route & due to arrive soon (I hope. Been a month now). I'll attempt to locate an M1014 for comparison purposes. Shouldn't be too hard. Try emailing or calling Benelli direct & ask the same question, see what they say. [ 10-21-2004, 07:18 PM: Message edited by: Double_wield ]

I find it rather interesting that Benelli USA would explicitly sell these parts as legally persmissable for retrofit modification of the M4S90 w/o consulting the BATF firsthand - something they claim they have done. Even so, we're getting a different take on it after the fact. What the **** is going on here? I called customer service, & was told they did square this issue w/ BATF. I'd like to know how the company could publicly set this up if it's illegal. FUBAR, I must say.

Still perpetuating that myth, I see...

I'm not aware of any +4 extensions. But, yes, it would definitely extend out past the bbl. I've seen beyond-the-bbl. feed tube extensions on the M1, but the extension attaches differently on the M4S90, so I'm not sure if this would work. Looks odd, also.

Don't you wish. I'm not the one passing wind here. Really? Do tell of the like-minded individuals who share this "common" view of yours. Sorry to break it to you: the M1014's maker doesn't share your take on it. You're standing in your own little private room, lying to yourself..& believing the message. Having a hard time w/ the truth? I guess I'm just unable to relate to the sort of sophomoric rhetoric you seem to be confusing for a persuasive argument. Where can specific literature from Benelli be found to support your assertion? I'd like to see it. No, really. Or, try this: check w/ the factory yourself & quote a source that contradicts what I've been told twice by BenelliUSA reps. I both emailed & called the factory directly to get the straight on this, & the response was consistent regarding this myth. Myth, that is. The way it is.

Read the update in that forum. Benelli originally worked with the BATF on this issue to ensure it would be legal. Still, further clarification is probably in order.

Some legal clarification is in order - STAT!

Is it possible to acquire the compensator fitted to the M1S90 Practical for use on the M4?

bry72, Dd you know what he used to machine the notches? I'm considering adding 2 more settings - 1/2 & 3/4 extended, in addition to fully extended & closed - to my M4S90's (whenever arrive). I'm thinking that a dremmel w/ drill press harness might work. [ 10-18-2004, 10:59 PM: Message edited by: Double_wield ]

I put in an order for two M4S90's last Oct. 24 (inbound to a shop in WA State). Is there an avg. delivery timeline for Benelli products going out to the West Coast, & is this a typical or unusual waiting period? Thanks in advance.

I'm seriously considering footing for this, but would hesitate only to see if other, competing systems come out. It looks good, though, I must say.

Better call the factory & let them know they're turning out M4S90's w/ incorrect barrel configurations! News flash: This is a myth. How it got started, I have no idea. The significance of the M1014 is its engraved U.S. flag on the receiver...& the fixed "skeletonized" stock. Everything else is identical. Don't take my word for it - call the factory & ask.
