  1. I hope that I am wrong for everyone's sake. However, I was talking to a Benelli rep yesterday about how lucky I was to find my 11707. I told him that I had one on order since last October with a local FFL, but I had stumbled upon one (thanks to a friend here on the boards). I asked how long I would have waited and he said that it might be another EIGHT MONTHS. I hope he is wrong. For those that are looking, I saw that there was a used one on GunBroker yesterday...looks decent.
  2. Done! Man, that was easy...and didn't put a mark on the Benelli. I borrowed a pair of the snap ring pliers from a neighbor. Thanks for getting me to jump HH.
  3. All right...That's it. I'm freakin' spinnin' the front sling attachment tonight. Details to follow...
  4. Nice M1014, HH! The tac sling set up is nice. I'm still too much of a wuss to pop the retaining ring off so that I can spin the front sling mount.
  5. M1014, it looks like you need a choke-barrel on one of those bad boys!! [ 03-16-2005, 11:50 AM: Message edited by: usctf ]
  6. I hope you're right Starlynx. I've spoken with three M1014 owners, and all wanted to do it, but eventually refused feeling the need to keep their M1014s "factory" just in case they want to sell in the future. If you know of ANYONE who wants to do it, please let me know here on the forum through Private Message. The girl at Benelli customer service regarding the M4/M1014 is great. I chatted with her on a number of occasions. It was actually her recommendation that I come to this forum and see what I could do here. Anyway, I hope this happens soon, because spring is approaching fast, and I don't know how much longer I can keep this baby unfired. Thanks again!! [ 03-16-2005, 05:51 AM: Message edited by: usctf ]
  7. M1014, I would really appreciate the help. Thanks.
  8. I was fortunate to locate a NIB M4LE with the help of a friend here on the board. The little wrinkle that came up is the fact that the M4LE barrel has choke tubes, which I don't want to hassle with. Would my M4LE function EXACTLY the same (except pattern stuff obviously) if I swapped out with the M1014 barrel? If the answer is yes, is there someone out there that would wish to swap with me? Mine is absolutely unfired, and would need the same. Thanks for any help guys.
  9. Snap ring...so that's what they are called. Cool, thanks! I think you need those to adjust the front sling attachment as well. Have a good one.
  10. First, you need to get a pair of pliers with the two prongs sticking out (not sure what they are called). Then you remove the end cap and slide the barrel off so you can maneuver around the mag tube without hassle. If you look into the top end of the mag tube, you will see the spring retainer cap with a split/gap in it and two holes. Being careful not to mess anything up and also being aware that it is under pressure from the mag spring, insert the plier prongs into the two holes and gently squeeze together...then as it is squeezed together, pull it out carefully (again remember that it is under pressure from the spring and will want to pop out). Once you have it out and the pressure is released, unscrew/spin the shiny black fake extension off and pull it off allowing the spring to move all the way through. Then replace it with your new/real extension tube (it spins on the same way). Make sure you keep the orange end thingy in there. Gently scrunch/compress the sping back in and when you get it close, re-squeeze the spring retainer cap and gently insert it back into the top of the new extension tube. The spring will be under a little less tension because the mag spring retainer cap is now REALLY at the end of the complete mag tube, and not at the end of the first section with a fake extension screwed on top of it. Oh yeah, be sure that when you reinsert the mag spring retainer that it is flush with the end of the extension...don't want to chew it up when you screw the cap back on. Hope this helps. 11. That's not fair M1014, your Limited Edition is "different." I'm too much of a chicken to mess with the spring tube : ) BTW, what are you using for a sling connect at the rear? Do you have one of those metal snap attachments? [ 02-02-2005, 07:32 PM: Message edited by: usctf ]
  12. I'm getting a little po'd myself...Customer service has all of the dealers giving the same pat answer..."the guns are on the boat, but I have the Limited Edition in stock." Geez, if they are going to blow us off, they could at least be a little more subtle about it. Hmmm, "the guns are on the boat" sounds similar to "the check is in the mail." ****, that poor boat has been sailing for seven months now. Get a new captain for that boat!!! All of that being said, I did get a Limited Edition M1014 just to hold me over (I'll trade it in for the M4 #11707). [ 02-02-2005, 03:19 PM: Message edited by: usctf ]
  13. Thanks for the welcome M1014. I worry about dinging stuff up as well. If something gets wear from use, I'm fine with it. However, it's a completely different story if I booger something up screwing around. By the way, keep the M1014 pics coming. They are much appreciated.
  14. Thanks RoyK5. Does it stress out the ring at all, or is it O.K. if you only do it once or twice?
  15. Greetings to all...new Benelli owner and Forum member here. I just purchased an M1014 (wanted the M4LE but "settled"). Haven't had a chance to get out with it yet, as we were bombarded with snow this past weekend. Noticed the front sling attachment is "semi permanent" with a two-hole "c" washer locking the sling attachment in place. I would like to spin the sling attachment 90 degrees to properly mount a 3-point tactical sling but am nervous about spreading that metal "c" washer to unlock the sling attachment. Has anyone done this with success? Thanks in advance!!
