pics deleted due to problems

As promised, here are the pics of my SNT w/factory 14" and collapsible stock. *** sorry guys, some have had problems with these pics - so much for using 'supload' for image hosting. ***

I never really noticed any difference a difference in recoil between this one and the original pistol grip that the SNT came with, but I did try firing it with the stock shortened up and got a kick in the cheek similar to what those Knoxx stocks give you if you're not careful. I've never shot a Comfort tech stock before so can't help with that one. As far as getting one, I think the only country that has problems getting Benelli collapsible stocks is the US (other than long wait times!).

Don't worry, I'm not from USA.

Do the different colored highlighters remind you what type of shot/slug is loaded in each? lol

Its a 5-position, and same as a M4, the shorter positions put your head up too high to see through the GR sights. I'm guessing you guys would also like my factory 14.5" barrel - I'll post pics as soon as my friend gives it back to me.

Benelli does make them. Mine was backordered for over a year but finally did show up. Free Image Hosting

Mostly any teflon spray will discolor what it is sprayed on, looks like a white film, dark surfaces are worse. The Drylube can says on it only a light spray is necessary and if it turns white you've put on too much. I've only used it inside the receiver & on the bolt of my 10/22 and it does seem to work ok. I've only been using it for the last year, so I'm not exactly sure if there will be excess wear or not compared to an actual oil.

Wow, awesome work! I thought there needed to be something done about the barrel being a smaller diameter. So I guess that there is no problem with these shortened barrels with reguards to cycling and such? Are you the gunsmith that did the barrel in my original post?

About a year ago, SergeantBernie had a M4 barrel cut down (http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13647). Does anyone know how it turned out? I was hoping for an "after use" update but never did see one. Was there any problems due to the barrel being about 2mm smaller diameter where the front sight & barrel lug were re-attached?

This used to be the thing to do to elimate "Benelli thumb" http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?threadid=82054&highlight=benelli+and+carrier

I believe I read on this board sometime ago that all Benelli barrels, on an assembled gun or as a replacement part, that came into the USA were at least 18", then cut down to 14" if the short barrel was wanted for LE. Are any of you SBS experts out there able to confirm this? What markings are on a factory 14" (most interested in Nova barrels)?

I was refering to the pictures of SNTs on the Benelli website, but you can see what it would be from SM74s pic, minus all the goodies and ghost ring sights of course. I don't know what the part numbers are of the desert camo guns are. Anyone ever seen them up close?
-
Have you figured it out yet? 20150 is the pistol grip with rifle sights, 20160 is pistol grip with ghost ring, 20145 is ComforTech with rifle sights, 20155 is ComforTech with ghost ring. Benelli website shows a 60 and a 45, your 50 would be the combo of the two (lower gun, upper stock). http://www.benelliusa.com/firearms/specialpurpose.tpl

I don't know if you've alread found out or not, but our warranty issues need to be handled by a Canadian Benelli dealer (usually where gun was purchased) who then deals with Stoeger Canada to resolve the issue. I was told that registration with Benelli USA is not necessary or even possible.

I like the Dave's Metal Works extensions - I would have bought one of those as they are the same thread as original Benelli extensions and adapters but I can still get factory parts here in Canada. http://www.davesmetalworks.com/ben.html

Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but I believe that all 11717s are camo with collapsable stocks. 11707s will accept collapsable stocks, but the one you don't want is the civilian M1014 which had a recoil tube that wasn't milled to allow the stock to collapse.
-
I initially had this problem as well when I installed my factory extension. What was happening on mine was that when I would tighten down the extension it was pinching a spring coil between the mag tube and extension. Just load a few shells, then loosen off the extension slightly at both threads and you should hear the spring pop free. Tighten everthing up again and now should be able to load your +2.

Good job, looks very tidy.

I know it seems like a good idea to just upgrade what you have but with these Benelli's it really starts to add up. If you can find them, new PG stocks seem to be going for $90-$100, 18" barrels for $250+, so that's already around $350 when a SNT 18" PGS w/GRS can be had for $400 or less. Check out the pricing on Impact Guns (http://www.impactguns.com/store/20160.html), not sure, but their prices might be high? edit: too slow, HW beat me to it

Yeah, when I had initially contacted George about making one he had no idea that there would be this amount of interest so he didn't want to tool up for a full length one unless I was willing to pay $$$$$$$$$$$ so I just got them to shorten one of their existing #93 rails. So all of yours will be cheaper and better :-(

To further show the lack of consistancy in our laws, the M4 can be sold here in all versions (collapsible stock not a problem)- now how is this a sporting rifle? Maybe because they come with choke tubes??! Wasn't it designed as a military shotgun?

Here's the rail on the SNT, please excuse the phone-cam pics and the aimpoint knock-off

I've just recently got a SuperNova Tactical with the pistol grip stock. When comparing it to a regular Nova, the pistol grip seems to give the "sensation" of less violent recoil with heavy loads which I thought might be due to your hand absorbing more recoil rather than transfering all to your shoulder. Is this all in my mind or has anyone else noticed this? Could this possibly help a "recoil sensitive" shooter?
