Fact: Racking your shotgun will alert your intruder of your presence and that you are armed. You have now lost the element of surprise and your weapon was holding one less round of ammunition than it could have been.

I just unscrewed mine. I didn't need to heat it up.
You turned your stock fiber optic SBII sight counter clockwise without any problems? I dont know I just put the easy hit right in front of stock sight.I like it

Hi,
I'm not from the states, but i will be in Boston next month and i wanted to buy a bag for my gun.
Can anyone tell me if there's a benelli store in Boston, or if there's a store that holds their merchendise?
Order online

Tell her to drop it like its hot

let some one shoot you with a 20ga shotgun, and see if you dont. i would imagine it was as much due to shock, as impact. ive got nothing to prove to any one, so i dont give a flying damn wetheryou believe me or not.
I dont beleive you and you are a lier. Ive shot deer close range with 3.5" magnum buckshot and they didnt fly back 20 feet. Oh and it was on mythbusters lol:eek:

enough said?
ETA:
of yeah you can always remove the two phillips head screws from the cheek piece and knock the pin out of stock so it will collapse, just will only lock on the fully open position. also I'm friends with a fella that changed his recoil tube out with a vise, towel and pipe wrench...recoil tube twisted right off~shrugs~
And if you have a M1014 limited edition you would not have any place to put those choke tubes, as far as I know only the M4 came with the barrel that accepts choke tubes as far as I know....but I have been told before by several gun dealers that 2 versions of the M1014 was released?
NIce deer and gun! What was that shot in? Were you using buckshot or slugs
-
yes ...i have!!
Good for you, you should be proud for defending your home. Man up. Your story looks like bullsh!t to me, nobody "flies back 20 ft" while being hit with a shotgun round.
-
AMEN,take my word for it, its not something you want to do if you dont haveto. intruder or not its hard to live with.
How do you know have you ever capped someone?
-
i just hope when you idiots decide to blast whatever goes"bump" in the night, its not your wife who got up for a drink of water, or your kids home early from collage.

Post up the inventory. I promise no one will get hurt.
LOL
Ya I call dibs on his Benelli

Just heat up the Rib (a little) and unscrew the site. They are threaded.
This doesnt burn the plastic

shotgunNoob, your name suits you. If your comfortable with 4 rounds in your shotgun for home defense than good for you. Im comfortable with 14 rounds of .45 hollowpoints as ive said. If you have 3 people breaking into your house which would you rather have??? You can talk about people planning home invasions but its all preperations. If put to the test your stress and adrenaline level will be put through the roof and you just very well might miss someone. You compare your "racking the slide" to an intruder seeing 6 357 magnum rounds, the point is the intruder should never see these if were talking about a night home invasion, he should be blinded by your flashlight thus further protecting you. I would rather have the element of surprise and be fully loaded with my sights on the suspect before turning on my flashlight so that if they are armed im ready to go. If they ARE armed and hear your "clack clack" as you put it, bullets will be flying in your direction.
-
Isn't racking the gun a good sign that your armed? Its also a good sign to the attacker that the gun was just loaded?
Also, how many shells do you need? If you can't hit someone with the first two shells, what makes you think the rest will make a differance. And if you do hit someone with the first two shell, again what makes you think you will the rest.
I have a stock nova, 4 rounds in the tube. I think thats 2 extra, plus a handgun for back up. If you can't get rid of a thead with that, get yourself a draw bridge with a moat.
Novaking
Who knows if the person will even understand the sound, they could be on drugs. The point is your gun should be ready to go so you dont have to think about things like racking the action. And I would want to make sure the gun is full up. You prefer a shotgun with 4 rounds while I prefer 14 rounds of hollow point .45....you carry a handgun for backup, do you keep a holster on your underwear too? hahaha

As tucker said a browning bps is a good gun. All this talk about "racking the gun" makes me laugh. If someone was in your house, waiting to get close and making a racking noise is ridiculous. Your gun should be ready to go and if your racking, thats one less round that should be in your gun. You would want to keep as much distance from an attacker as possible and you need a gun with a defense light like a surefire. If your going with a long gun, make sure you get a short barell. You also need to make your attacker aware that you are armed, they wont be able to see anything with the light in their eyes.

They do make a replacement pad that screws right on. It fits perfect. I really like it. We tested with and without two guns side by side. A big difference expesualy when the weather gets colder. The stock pad turns pretty hard.
How exactly do I remove the stock fiber optic sight on my SBII?
-
I agree 100% with those who mentioned, as I did, that you need to completely disassemble the gun and thoroughly clean/lube it. When I received my SuperNova, I did this. It was amazing how much crap came off of this gun. When you re-assemble the weapon, make double sure that EVERYTHING hooks up properly and is lubricated. Then you will have at least narrowed the field of "probable causes", if nothing else.
+1
Those Italians put packing grease on these guns like olive oil on food lol

"Dude relax, he didnt mean anything like that."
Yeah, I know he didn't, and you know he didn't, but they (anti-gunners) love that kind of little sound bite, especially if it comes from someone on "our" side of the battle. They'll take it out of context and use it against us.
I know, I'm probably being overly sensitive to this kind of thing, but it happens.
Ya its starting to sound like overkill

To anyone buying a Benelli I would say this. Take the gun apart completely and CLEAN it thoroughly! Your benelli needs a light coat of oil on the bolt where it rides on the rails and the rails inside of the receiver. Cleaning the trigger group and a light coat of lube is also not a bad idea. I would also take apart the recoil tube and clean and lubricate it. I have had no probelms with mine since Ive done this, I recommend about 6 drops of oil or CLP inside the recoil tube and work it up and down. Also clean and put a drop or so on the ejector plate inside of barell.

.
Overkill is a vague term, and one often used by liberal gun-banners to get the otherwise uneducated people to believe that any gun is too much gun. e.g. "Assault weapons are overkill; nobody needs them."
Careful using that term when talking about guns. Gun banners love to use our own words against us. Case in point - The Brady Campaign has prominently used Jim Zumbo's words in their yearly manifesto denouncing guns.
Dude relax, he didnt mean anything like that.
-
Did a gunsmith do that? I guess I would have to get that done for my SBII?
-
M1's and SBE 1's did, IIRC (may be wrong) but the M2/SBEII and newer Benellis do not.
Will I know right away when I try to load it or only if I fire and cycle the gun
-
Its crazy how everyone has a different opinion on lubing a Benelli. I have friends who use nothing and have great luck with that but there guns have several thousand rounds through them. I was thinking of trying a spray silicone that dries and see if that works. I hate to use greese type lubes as they have a tendence to gum up when it gets cold and it is getting pretty chillie around here.
Thanks for the help:D
A light coat of CLP is good

Newer models of sporting guns will not allow a "floater" by default, but this is easily fixed with a little epoxy or tig welder.
Im going to see if my SBII does allows this

I have one on my m2,I like it.I think it does help me keep my head down on the stock.I got it from Tom Knapps web site,I ordered the hunting style but they sent the sporting clays one,I made do.
I ordered the hunting in 3.0mm in red ill let you guys know how it is

Maybe you should just leave your weapon unloaded that way you can keep making your...what did you call it "CLACK CLACK" until they leave. Perhaps use a megaphone so it can be heard throughout the house and if possibly the intruder or intruders can hear if they dont think you are home and are making too much noise tearing your house apart. A "ninja" style robbery is when 2 or 3 men break into a house and they are ARMED. If I could spot a weapon in someones hand in my house and there are 2 or three men. Im taking them out...plain and simple. No clack clack BS...youve seen too many movies....and this is where that extra ammunition comes into play.
