  1. I tried one for a few hours of frustration when duck hunting a couple of years ago.

Ended up ripping it off the barrel and tossing it into the lake.

As soon as I did that, I began hitting birds again.

I think it's a good tool for people with eye dominance problems or those who can't keep their head down on the stock properly.

I was on limbsaver's site yesterday and I noticed that they have some new fiber optic sights there as well.

Does limbsaver make a replacement pad for SBII comfortech and do you think its worht the investment? Also if I get this sight do I leave stock one on or take off?

  2. Just a technique.

Load her up as usual (7+1).

Ease the bolt back enough to get the chambered shell clear of the chamber. Then push that one down onto the carrier.

Slip another above it and drop it into the chamber.

Make sure the carrier is all the way down and let the bolt close.

Interesting! This doesnt create a problem when the gun cycle because the magazine is going to try and load a shell onto the carrier but there is already one there

  3. Cutting the Comfortech stock is not a great idea.

Getting a standard stock and having a gunsmith cut it down and installing a limbsaver is a better option.

Explain to the gunsmith that you still need to access the retaining nut, so he can leave a hole in the middle of the plate.

Just curious is a limbsaver good to get for a comfortech stock?

  4. You are deer hunting im assuming? I use a full choke with 00 buckshot and have taken deer at 60 yards with it. LE use cylinder with their buckshot because most confrontations will be withing 25 yards.

  5. Also check the bottom of the bolt for any rough spots. When mine came back from benelli I noticed that the bottom of the bolt had been polished pretty good. I use plenty of oil too. Makes you have to clean it a little more often but seems to cycle alot smoother. As the gun gets broken in the extra oil won't hurt and I think the hard spot in the cycle will go away on its own. Problem is that you don't know when it will hang again. If it's on a dove it's not a big deal but when you need that second shot on a big buck then you've got problems. Hope some of these things work because I've been there too.

Ya between taking apart the recoil tube assembly, cleaning and lubing it as well as the ejector slide inside the gun. Now I will pay attention to the bottom of bolt assembly now!thanks!

  6. Its synthetic but thanks for the input. I applied some clp to the bottom of the bolt itself and didnt have any jams last time I was at the range. I also used Remington ammo instead of federal which Benelli recommended. Even though the federal is 4dram and the remington is 3 3/4 dram. Who knows maybe itwas that little extra clp underneath the bolt and not the ammo.

  7. I had the same problem with my SBE II the first week of September. It only did it once though. Since that trip, I have applied a very light coat of CLP to both the bolt and the rails and it hasn't happened since. Although, I've only put between 3 and 4 boxes of shells through it so far. Two weekends ago, I got a stovepipe but no other problems since. I'm inclined to believe it's a break in problem that will go away in time. Assuming you properly lubricate the gun.

I hope your using high brass, thats what the gun needs for the first 3-4 boxes

  8. NJgunner,

There is nothing wrong with you gun.Your gun is perfect.

The other members told you so ,don't you believe them?

    You don't have a problem!!!

    Good shooting!

Where did I post that I didnt beleive them? I dont know why you think your picture is so impressive it surely wasnt made from 1 shell.

  9. Boys here is what I did to mine after a tare apart to the bones cleaning and lubing.

When I would pull the bolt back and forth there was a spot in that distance that would have a slight hang up. It wasn't so bad that it would not finish the cycle. I lubed the bolt rails with some STOS gun lube I use on my trap guns. Then I hand cycled the dang thing about 100 times and now it is as smooth as can be. It cycles the lightest of trap loads no problem now.

Now lets talk about the Benelli click. My particular bolt had a larger than normal lip on it where the bolt is turned when it slams shut in the barrel. I cleaned that up a little and lubed where the bolt mates the barrel and the famous click is not there anymore.

One thing I think would help a bunch is to take your gun apart and try and figure out and understand how everything is suppose to work. Once you get that done, some of these issues will disapear.

I personally think changing the ammo is a crock of sh!t if you know what I mean. I have seen every different kind of ammo shot out of these things with no problems.

I guess that's why they think they need broke in. I brake mine in at home on the bench. I did notice that mine would throw the spent shells a lot farther than my buddies and they were purchased about the same time.

Got any questions, I will help as much as I can

Thanks! These bolt rails seem to like a decent amount of oil eh? I hate putting alot becuase it attracts dirt :(

  10. Does anybody know how to tell what choke tubes I would have for my Stoeger Condor Field Combo 12 & 20 gauge.

I can't find any markings or writing on them in order to figure it out. All I can assume is that it came with all Modified Tubes ????????????????????

The benelli chokes i have have notches in the top I II III IIII IIIII (I is full and IIIII is cylinder)

  11. I recently bought a R1 300WSM and am having accuracy issues. I am using Winchester 180 gr. What ammo do others recommend?

Winchester makes good ammo IMO. Hornady is good. What kind of issues are you having and are you using a scope if so what kind

  12. I've never seen another sbe II lock up when manually working the bolt without a shell unless the cartridge lever has been depressed. Probably need to check out NJ's previous posts.

Yes without a shell but only if you try and push the bolt forward, if you release it it will slam shut. when it is locked up a little force forward and it goes or if you were to press the shell carrier down from inside it would slam on your fingers

  13. He said nothing about the bolt locking back abnormally. I think he is just referring to when he locks the bolt back manually by depressing the cartridge drop lever.

Yes, hearing the spring move around is normal - it's part of the reason the gun works.

In my other post I mentioned this it would happen first shot only of an outing and seemed to be with 4dram federal wing shok shells. when it happens it fails to eject the shell and the bolt needs to be pushed forward. What I mentioned is that i was trying to see where the bolt was hanging up and if you pulled itback and pushed it forward and repeated this a bunch of times you could take your hand off the bolt handle when it was all the way back and it would look locked but if you pushed forward it would go, try it on your gun see if you can get it to hang up

  14. Those of you who know, I had problems with my SBII jamming on the frist shot of an outting only. I broke the gun in with 3 boxes of high brass without any problems. A few different pheasant hunts It would fail to eject the shell. I was using Federal Wing Shok 4dram 1 1/4oz shot. I then went deer hunting and two seperate hunts with 3.5" buckshot did not have any problems. I recently cleaned the entire gun including the recoil tube and added about 6 drops of clp in it. Benelli told me to try different ammo so i used remington 3 3/4 dram express long range and it didnt jam on the first shot so im happy for once BUT the ammo it was jamming with would cycle fine AFTER the first shot so who knows. I have a couple questions

    #1

How many drops clp or oil do you guys use on the bolt rails? I usually bolt one on each side of the bolt itself and spread it around then 1 on each side of where the bolt rail slides inside of the gun.

    #2

When the gun would jam I beleive the bolt was almost locked back and you would have to give it a push forward. If you guys pull back on the bolt and push it forward and do this a bunch of times can you sometimes get it to hangup to the point you can take your hand off and its locked back and then you have to give it a little push forward to get it going? My gun is like this as sometimes when i do this motion I feel some resistance when the bolt is all the way back and just about to go forward is this normal?

#3 Are you guys oiling all moving parts in the trigger assembly?

  15. For 50-55 yards you will need something like the Buck Kicker choke I bought from Kick's. A normal Benelli choke will really suck it up at that kind of distance.

At 50 yards with my Primos Dead Deer choke and Remington 15 pelled 3" buckshot I was keeping 50% of my pellets on a 14x20" piece of paper. The Kicks should do even better. The stock MOD choke was hopeless.

Ive killed a deer at almost 60 yards with stock fullchoke and 3.5" federal 00 vital shok

  16. Mine did exactly that. Save yourself time and money and let the warrenty cover it. I spent over a month changeing oil and shells. If the gun is right it will fire anything 3 drams and up. And mine does fine with almost any kind of gun oil since they replaced my trigger assembly and polished the bolt and rails. Good luck and keep us informed

Before I send it back I just wanna try Remington shells. I got these federals from cheaperthandirt.com and maybe its a bad box who knows. If it jams first shot on these Rems,Ill send it back immediately. Im going to have to figure out how to ship it. Probably take it to UPS right? The gun store is 1 1/2 hours from my house.

  17. Hey Tucker do you prefer hoppes elite field cleaner to breakfree CLP? Shouldnt be that much difference I would assume. How would you compare these to the standard oil benelli gives you?

  18. Mine is way smoother than before with no problems so far. The bolt should not hang open until the last shot is fired. I'd save myself some time and get the gun back to benelli. This problem is not only aggravating but is also dangerous.

What I mean is when you pull the bolt back and instead of releasing it PUSH it forward if you go back and forth a bunch of times sometimes it hangs up and you have to give a good push for it to go forward. Im going to try the new ammo before sending it back to benelli. I will keep you all posted. Thanks for your help guys
