If its a turkey nova,( not all 24 inch Novas are turkey guns) than it will be drilled and tapped for a rail. To see for sure, just look and see if there are four screws on the top of the receiver.

I agree. You will have better luck finding a new tactical nova than just a barrel.

When you get into home defence, ammo is a personal. Many people say birdshot isn't enough for HD(this is what I use), and many say bird shot will do fine. You want to chose the most stopping power that your comfortable with.

Good choice on brand. Benelli shotguns are the best. As far as tips, what are you doing with the shotgun? Home defence, 3 gun, ranch gun, etc. The tips I have: Take apart the gun and clean it well and get to know your new shotgun. Most likely nothing. That 40 year old 870 is slicker than any nova out there. I would watch the high pressure loads in the 870 though. Nova's you don't have to worry as much.

Here is IL we can only have 1 turkey tag per season. (max of 2 total per year.) So an auto wouldn't help any. For Skeet, I have broke 23/25 with my nova, but not all the time. So I auto would be great for the game. For dove, The limit is 15 per day. I shoot a box of shells or less every time I go out. Auto would be nice but I haven't passed up a whole lot of shots. If you want one. Get it. You won't be sorry. If you don't, Your nova will treat you well. Novaking
