In our hunting party we have a Super 90, I-12, M2, SuperNova - all Benelli products...we've never had an issue. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Maybe just to take them out and lube them on a very regular basis. Probably as often as you break your gun down, or more!

We only use Mojo's for diver hunting on the open water. It works suprisingly well. A good rule of thumb I like to keep in mind when using a Mojo, is to keep it upwind of the spread. Snow geese are the only waterfowl to my knowledge that will land over a moving decoy. By keeping the mojo out of the target zone, it will attract the attention of the birds but they may not necessarily focus on it when landing. It peaks their interest for long enough, but not too long as to scare them away from a strange robo duck cousin. A remote would also be a good suggestion if you got the Mojo for so cheap...maybe a $50 purchase. And if you're hunting honkers, leave it at home. In my experience they want nothing to do with it. I agree with the above statement. This spring when I purchased a new waterfowling gun I pondered the same question, Vinci or M2. The price is comparable and not a single forum had horrible things to say about either auto loader. My only hesitation between the two was the lack of exposure the Vinci has. It's a fairly new gun to the market and though the reviews have been great - I feel more comfortable purchasing a gun with a great reputation over the years. Just my opinion. I love my M2 by the way! Yah I had actually never thought about it before. It does lock up VERY TIGHT, sometimes so the point where I had to work at it for a minute or so. I thought it was a valid question, it's not like a magazine cap that will pinch it all together. I'm hoping somebody with some Vinci experience can help with this one.

Tomorrow is the day I will hopefully go pick out my new Vinci. It's time to put the I-12 in the rack for a back up . A friend of mine posed the question to be today which caught my attention, it has to do with the easy three piece assembly of the Vinci. Sort of like how a screw gets threaded by being tightened and loosened too many times or a snap button on a coat that has been snapped thousands of times and no longer stays snapped. Would the assembly of the Vinci eventually overtime loose it's solid locking ability holding the gun very tightly together? I've learned with an inertia system that cleaning the bolt is vital so I for see myself taking it apart often to clean the insides. By me taking it apart and putting it back together so many times be like threading a screw? I'm afraid the gun will eventually not fit tightly back together anymore having the parts slightly shift. I need some help from a Vinci owner please. Thanks Adam

Mudhen, you even admitted yourself that there are even problems with SBEII's. So why not give somebody the consideration who is looking for a lower end gun? Are you saying it's not possible that an M2000 will function? Gee...if I buy one will it jam up on me diver hunting out on the bay on Thanksgiving? You know what you're right though...if you don't have enough money to buy a 1300 dollar gun you just shouldn't buy one at all because that's obviously the best gun that's ever been made. So everybody should just wait until they have that much money to buy a SBEII or until then enjoy fishing? Say what you want about statistical data on complaints etc from Gander Mountain. Doesn't the buyer assume some sort of risk when they purchase a lower end gun? Throw me a bone here. I have little to no problems with my I-12, love it in fact. Are you going to tell me that next time I'm in South Dakota in the snow and rain it's going to jam up on me based on principle? I don't buy it. You guys make me upset with your high end talk. Open your mind and thoughts. We're all on the same team here. Never thought you'd get a moral speech from a 23 year old kid did ya. I love waterfowl hunting more than most kids at my age. Don't spoil it for people like me. And I bet you seem like the kind of guy to get in an argument if somebody's hunting too close to you're spot. Not me...I'll invite you along or move down a ways. And I'd probably wish you good luck too.

aren't you being a bit of a cynic there mudhen? I've seen M2000's work just fine and my I-12 doesn't really give me problems? I'm just a kid who couldn't afford a $1300 gun, but I saved up and bought what i thought was good. If there are people on here looking for advice about guns and purchasing one, I understand not preferring a gun, but your last post doesn't help at all. If you really think those guns are that bad, I would honestly be interested in hearing what you have to say...

Yah, unless you're really hunting for a bargain, i would scratch the M2000 from your consideration. Although i'm sure you could get it to work for you. I own an I-12, I love it. It comes a part quickly and very easily. Inertia driven, rotating bolt head, 3" chamber...etc. I'm sure there will be guys behind me to roast me on this for recommending an I-12 but if you're like me and couldn't drop 1300 on a SBE II or Vinci, an I-12 is a great middle ground between stoeger and benelli. The only misfires i've ever had are with crappy remington 1550fps steel shells. any other brand has never given me a problem. You take your chances with any gun though. You could always end up with a bad egg....me personally, I don't ever reconsider purchasing my I-12. There are a lot of ducks and geese that wish I had! Good luck with your search.

unfortunately i haven't tried rnt calls either, I use Zink calls. However, once you've become an accomplished caller it's possible to make a $30 polycarbonate sound like a northern honker, ha. Zink makes cocobolo wood calls that are a little less expensive than acrylics. I have a paralyzer and a little man, love them both and wouldn't trade them for anything else. Give them a whirl next time you're at Gander or Cabelas. Talk the talk!

Lately i've been using a meat jaccarder (or a tenderizer). You can find it at any cooking store to tenderize the meat, price range from $10-$50. It's a series of about 40 tiny blades that you push through the meat and it breaks up the strands and can flatten the goose or duck breast to make it easier to cook, depending on how hard you push the jaccarder through. I usually clean up the meat, jaccard the breasts then throw them in the marinade. The holes in the meat allow the seasoning/marinate to soak into the meat. After marinating right before grilling i'll lightly jaccard them again pushing some of the marinade through into the meat. trust me, IT MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE!! Give it a try, i work at a steakhouse and we jaccard all of our steaks, that's where i got the idea from. Second idea for a marinate, during the holidays Sierra Mist has a cranberry splash flavor. I tried using that as a marinade with a carolina seasoning the other day...it has a sweet flavor but very very good. I'm sure you could also just use sprite and cranberry etc. Somebody let me know how it works!
