Quick question guys... I was told by someone to get a speedloader for a semi-auto shotgun. Is there such thing as a speedloader, and what does it do?

Hmm... guess I'll be ordering my Mesa 8 shell holder from Ron then. Let me see if I understand, the buttstock shell holder didn't work because the stock sling loop is not removable?

Please keep us updated on the buttstock shell holder. I talked to tactical shotgunner via email and they told me it wouldn't work for Benelli M4s. The M1 and the M4 fixed buttstock look very similar tho. Maybe they were thinking about the Collapsible M4 stock?

Went shooting trap for the first time today with my Benelli M4... and sucked it up big time. (first day shooting shotgun as well) After 40 or so clay targets... I realized aiming well out in front of the clay target meant a MUCH higher chance of hitting the target. That said... I was using the choke that came with the shotgun (I think it's a 3 dot). Is there supposed to be a certain choke that I'm supposed to use to shoot skeet/trap?

Nice upgrades you got listed there. Quick question... your buttstock 4 shell holder is the same one I listed at tacticalshotgunner, right? So it does work with ours as well? What's the advantage of having a 3 point sling as opposed to a 2 point sling? And thanks a bunch Duggan for showing me those accessories. I'll probably get those after a red dot. I love the idea of a better charging handle and a bolt release... but I'm not gonna lie... my eyes went big when I saw it cost $120 for a simple bolt release pad.

Need advice on accessories now. Gonna hold off on the red dot until I get all my choices sorted out. Already got an extension tube now. If not... maybe a sleeve of some sort that can hold a few shells? I want to put some buckshot on the 8 rail carrier, then some slugs on the buttstock one so I will never have to fumble around and always know what shells are what. ...edit. Oh... and what sling do you guys use?

Anyway I can see those reticles? The reason I really wanted an Eotech was because I love their 65 moa circle with a 1 moa dot. It seems like it'll let me shoot slugs accurately with the 1 moa dot... and the 65 moa circle would help with rapid acquisition. I thought I saw several pictures of guys with normal stocked M4s with Eotechs on. Maybe I was just dreaming.

Thinking about getting a red dot for it now. Eotech 512 is the one I want, right? (Wanting a Eotech but not sure which one)

Whipped out my Benelli M4 for the first time. Had some slugs.... some 00 buckshot... and some light target rounds for shooting trap. I decided to go heavy stuff first as I heard the pistons sometimes need a run or two with heavy loads before cycling light stuff properly. Well... let's just say this is the first time I've fired a shotgun before. Loaded the first slug... and blasted right through the tree that the target was on.... and blasting through a second tree before getting stopped by the backstop (huge dirt mound) Huge grin on my face as I then decided to fire off several more boxes. Ended up stringing 5 rapid fire slugs in a row before my shoulder was killing me lol. Now I have a question.... does 00 Buckshot recoil less than the slugs? After a short break, I could rapidfire 8 buckshot shells without flinching or hesitating while shooting on target. Was my shoulder just numb/bruised or was it because it's less recoil? And shooting trap for the first time... was laughable. It took me 30+ clays before I realized I had to lead well in front of the clay target to blast them. Managed to hit 5 in a row before the day was over! All in all... I love me some shotgun fun!

How do I get the limiter piece off? Just rip it out? ( I thought I had to remove the entire magazine tube, let the spring fall out, and I thought the limiter piece would fall out from that end.)

Oh, and I should CLP/wipe the bolt/firing pin/trigger group, right?

Thanks for clearing that up. What about the gray tubing that the pistons attach to? Should I CLP a rag until it's damp, then wipe it?

How do I remove the magazine tube to put on a +2 extension? thanks!

I know I'm not supposed to lube the gas pistons at all. But they're just the 1" long metal cylinders, right? I can lube the rods that are attached to them, right? (They look like jousting lances) I'm asking because I'm going to clean it before shooting it for the first time, and there's already a lot of grease on those rods.

So.. this is my first shotgun and I plan on taking it out to the range next weekend. I know that some companies put different stuff in the guns after they're built. Do I need to clean out the barrel with a boresnake/clp? Is that all I'd have to do?

Probably what the rest of us who have/want red dot scopes want... faster target acquisition.

Well, I'm also looking for a red dot scope for the obvious reason of fast target acquisition. I guess I'll get a Eotech 511 then. Any non NV versions that use AA batteries? So I can just mount the Eotechs straight to the rail with no aftermarket mounts... right? I can't be the only guy who's doing this. I've seen/searched numerous Eotech vs "other red dot" topics before.

Well, I'd like to think of my M4 as a shotgun for any purpose. And that would be both buckshot/slugs, etc. I want it to be a versatile platform.
