  1. This folder stock is a Benelli part for the M-3 Tactical. Brownels lists some parts for the stock, but I doubt if they list them all. Besides, the folder stock then limits the barrels that you can use. No receiver mounted GRS sights, all sights must be barrel mounted to clear the folded stock. You have heard people complain about the Benellis kicking, THIS ONE REALLY KICKS!!!!!!!

    Check out this website:

    http://www.brownells.com/aspx/ns/schematics/schemmfg.aspx?schemid=681&m=1&mn=Benelli+U.S.A.%c2%ae&model=Super+90+M3+Military+%26+Police+

It lists all parts but the butt plate, and the barrel, (the barrel is necessary to lock the stock in the folded position), those two parts are NOT Available according to the catalog. Prepare to have a heart attack when you see the prices, when purchased piece by piece!!

  2. I guess Benelli doesn't make a hard case for their M3 pistol gripped Super 90?...or do they?

    Does Anybody sell them, please?

    dS

Check out E-Bay, I've seen several listed on there at various times. I've seen them run from 19.00 to over $50.00. I haven't been there since they changed there policy requireing the use of PayPal or other "PAPERLESS" forms of payment.

    Also check out http://www.snipercountry.com/forsale/display_reverse.asp.

  3. I was considering a M3 but have seen some negitive feedback on them and thought they may just have to much to go wrong with them?

    Opinions?

As a LEO I can't think of a better shotgun to have at hand when needed. I think it is the most versatle combat shotgun a officer could carry. I have had mine for 3 or 4 years, and would choose it over any 870, or a 1100/11-87.

  4. I have had mine for about 3 or 4 years. I have no issues, I pull the trigger and it go's bang everytime, and ejects, and it will do all the other functions a shotgun is supposed to do!! Mesa Tactical has a saddle that they say will fit, it is listed as to fit a M-2, I asked, and they stated that "no one had ever asked about a M-3". I especially like the "convertible action", you can use any combination of Hi/Lo brass with this action. From what I've heard, the M-3 is mainly a L.E. weapon, that may be why you've not heard a lot about it. I haven't seen it in use by the military, and the only ones I've seen by L.E. were used by SWAT.

I like mine, good gun, I had it for sale, but since Obama bin ladin is going in office, I have second thoughts. Hope this helps.

  5. The only thing that could possibly be touching the inside of the bore from firing modern slugs would be the cup, or sleeve. Try wiping the bore down with a patch soaked with acetone, you can get it from the paint dept. at China-Mart. After using acetone, use plenty of gun oil or other preserative, as the acetone will remove ALL traces of oil, and will cause rust. Hope this helps.

  6. I say we ought to ban guns. I already have my fair share and am going to stash the good stuff for a 10x resale markup on the black market when the time comes. People do not kill people. Guns kills people. It is a fact. I read that in the Internet somewhere...

Check out this website. It is the Democrapic Party's stand on "gun control" the plans for this ban have been in place for a long time. They are just waiting to gain the power to put it in place. This time, it will not have a "sunset". SCAREY!!!

  7. A breaching choke is used in the event that you cannot quickly and safely make it through an obstacle. For example: Your about to enter a building to be cleared, the door is locked, no key available. You place the breaching choke right against the lock, pull the trigger and it blows the lock.

Anytime you use a breaching shotgun, the breach has to be against whatever you are going to remove or destroy to make it into whatever your entry team is going into.

If the breach is not against the object in question, then you have the possiblity of blowback and it could end up injuring somebody or worse.

So jam it into whatever it is you want to get out of your way and pull the trigger. Easy as that.

    Hope this helps.

Another note, these are ONLY used with a special "powdered" lead or sintered iron load. That way when it transits through the door, it is nothing but dust on the other side, no shot to injure any one inside. These are used by the entry man on a SWAT team, for high risk entry.

  8. I'm considering selling a new, unused barrel w/ Ghost Ring front site. Though non-factory, the barrel was shortened and refinished to perfectly match the finish of the receiver. It is in perfect condition.

Any ideas as to what a barrel of this type is worth? I realize these are hard to find on the open market, but I've found no references on the web to help me set a price.

Also, is there much of a market for a barrel of this type?

    TIA

Check out Gunbroker.com auction #113872738. "Buy it now" price is $500.00.

  9. i was wondering what was the best choke for using 00 buckshot or if it was a good idea to do so or best to go with a smaller size shot of buckshot before trying it out and also i have a smooth bore s/n what would be a good choice of slug for use with it without a rifled barrel or would it hurt the barrel in any way not being rifled icon5.gif

thanks for any help and any comments

Most all L.E. shotguns are cylinder bore (a few may use Improved cylinder) for using both "oo" buck shot and slugs. For home defense, I'd use #4 buck, much more "bang for the Buck".

Rifled slugs won't hurt a smoothbore barrel. If you have interchangable chokes in the barrel, you may want to try a "rifled" choke, much cheaper than a "rifled" barrel, and just about as accurate. Sabot slugs are super in the accuracy department also, but more expensive.

  10. Hi,

I have a Beretta ES100 Pintail which is very similar/identical to the Benelli Montefeltro. I have had the gun for about two years and this week it began to give me problems.

    Here is what is happening:

I can fire the gun once, go to shoot the 2nd time, and I get nothing. The gun does not fire, the hammer does not drop. This is very sparatic, sometimes I can get 2 shots off, and the third won't fire.

What I think is happening is that the gun is not resetting the hammer. I haven't comfirmed this because when I tried to get this to happen on purpose, it fires fine every time.

I don't have a cycling problem, but twice I have had the gun double fire on me, making me think the the hammer isn't being pushed all the way back to be "locked" by the trigger.

This is occuring on high brass 2 3/4 #4 duck load as well as low brass 2 3/4 #7 target load.

    I haven't tried 3" shells yet.

So I think this is either a force problem (not enough powder to cycle the bolt completly), I am not holding the gun tight enough against my shoulder, or something needs cleaning.

What do I need to clean/look at to fix this problem?

Has anyone had this problem with any of your Benellis?

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks!

If the bolt is cycling far enough to the rear to extract and eject the spent shell, it isn't binding, and the hammer should be held by the sear, and there should be no problem with the recoil spring. Sounds like the hammer may be "following" the bolt, instead of being held as it should be by the sear.

  11. I have a M3 Super 90 that I was using while on duty. However now that I am not using it any longer for that purpose, I thought it would make a good Turkey/Duck gun. However the barrel has a fixed choke (I'm assuming MOD or I/C). Anyone know if there are any other compatible barrels for the M3 that have field changable chokes? I don't see M3 barrels listed on Benelli's website.

My other idea was to take the barrel to a smith and have them thread it for factory Benelli chokes, but I honestly don't know if that is even possible. If it is, anyone have any suggestions or recommendation on who to send it to?

The cheapest way to go would be to take it to a good gunsmith, who is good with shotguns, and have him install a set of Remchokes. They are the easiest to get, and he will measure your barrel wall thickness, and insure that it isn't to thin to install a screw in choke system. If it is too thin, there are special thinwall chokes for the thinner barrels but they can be very expensive, more than a new barrel. Hope this helps.

  12. Sounds like the spring that keeps tension on the "selector" to lock it in the Semi auto mode, may be wound backwards.

The bolt closes when you hit the bolt release to close the bolt, even when in the "pump" mode, unless there is a shell in the chamber, then it works normally. That is the way mine works.

  13. Download the schematic to your computer desktop. Then blow it up with any photo program, it may be better to see the details of the parts then. I just tried it and it worked for me. My photo program is MGI photo suite, which was free with my old **** digital camera. Hope this helps.

  14. I took mine apart to see if I could help. I belive what you called a pin, is the end of the captive spring wound inside the assy. Try removing the two screws inside the bottom of the handguard, (carefully, mine won't budge) and see if the whole assy. will then slide out forward.

  15. The "AOW" such as the SERBU, was directed towards a shotgun (in this case) that left the assembly line without a buttstock, but was configured with a "pistol" grip, much as a handgun. It came off the line with a so-called "pistol" grip. That was what the SERBU was made from. Therefore it was not a "SBS" as it started life as a "pistol", not as a shotgun, quite like the old Ithaca "auto burglar".
