  1.

I plan to just put an Aimpoint T-1 or a Trijicon RMR on it for a simple red dot. I cannot see myself putting anything more than one of those on it for a sight, if any at all. So I don't know if I need that much rail.

Just so you know, There have been issues, at least with the Larue T-1 mount not holding well on the stock Benelli rail which is out of spec. Carriercomp will hopefully be getting their relacement rail out fairly soon. As far as I know there have not been any problems with the Sidearmor rails which, although they aren't spec either, are beefier than the stock Benelli rail.

  2. Add another vote for the Meprolight sights, the Specter Gear buttstock shell carrier and the Sidearmor. Here's a pic of mine with the Sidearmor rail with a Streamlight TLR-1 135 lumen light. I've added the titanium tube since the pic was taken.

  4. UNO and HOOKSTA, do the mesa side saddles really tear up the existing top receiver screw holes that much? and why? TS

I recall a couple of posts with people unhappy due to receiver holes getting stripped. In one case if I recall correctly, the sidesaddle fell off while the person was shooting. I believe the theory was the weight of the shells and perhaps an optic on the rail put too much stress on the screws while under recoil. I think that if no loc-tite was used and the screws had loosened up a little that it might add to the stress on the receiver. I'm sure lots of people have had zero problems but some have. I'll see if I can track down the thread. It was a while back so I may not be remembering everything correctly.

  5. Hi all, new guy here.

I am currently looking into picking up an M4 with the money I got refunded from college. This will be my first Benelli and my second shotgun (first was an 870). I plan to use it as a HD/Hunting shotgun. However I have a few questions.

As this will be my first Semiauto Shotgun, how is the relability?

Where/how can I find the collapsable stock for this?

Are there any 6 shell sidesaddles for it?

I want to install a magazine extention, I plan to buy one from SOCOMguy here on these forums. How hard is it to remove the existing magazine tube?

And finally, for all those fellow folks from Michigan, is it legal to hunt with an magazine extention installed on a semi-auto (or any) shotgun?

Hi Sarge, and welcome to the forum!

I'll just give some quick answers

Reliability=I don't think you'll see too much argument if I rate the M4 as the most reliable semi-auto shotgun made

Collapsable stock=there are usually some on Gunbroker often around $800 here's one of a few currently on there

    http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=147059778

Mesa makes 6 shell side-saddles but there have been issues with then stripping receiver holes

Removing the factory mag tube isn't too bad with a good heatgun here are instructions in post #2 of this thread

There's no longer a long wait for the titanium full length tubes from Kip at Carriercomp. You might want to check them out too

As for Michigan hunting laws your on your own. I'm a CA guy.

  6. Hi Guys … How are you ? Hope You are in a good health ..

I am a new member here and I have registered to ask you a question ..

I bought a shotgun but it fell down and the ring separated from the barrel ..

My question is How can I fix the ring to the barrel ?

What is the suitable kind of glue in such case ?

I am waiting for your answers ..

    Thanks a lot

    Hi Sami,

It sounds like you should get a hold of Benelli customer service for repair or replacement. Here are a couple threads from the past that deal with the same problem.

  7. Any feedback on the Specter-Gear (CQB Solutions) CQB, CST and/or SOP slings for the Benelli M4LE with telestock?

    Thanx.

    SAMMY!

I highly recommend Specter Gear slings and use them on all my long-arms. I use their CQB sling on my Benelli M4:

I use their sling rear adapter with their buttstock shell holder as the rear attachment point

  8. Hi Garnok, There have been a few misunderstandings around here and a few heated discussions in the past but those really are the exceptions. All in all it's a pretty friendly and helpful bunch around here as well as a wealth of information and experience.

  10. Yeah, I'd seen the Battle Arms Development Armorer tool on their TFL ad. I watched the little demo movie and everything. It's a little pricey but very cool! So, did you get the cheekpiece with the velcro straps? Does it feel pretty solid/no slip once it's on? I was wondering how much they actully raise the comb of the stock. I've also been looking at some lace on ones like this:

  11. I'll be looking forward to the pics!!

Yeah, I'm here in CA. I live in the Monterey Bay area. I'm still undecided about how I want to set up my Socom. I like the A.R.M.S 22M68 mount for the Aimpoint but it is taller than the Aimpoint low ring in the pic so I may get the Ultimak handguard to help lower the sight for a better cheek weld.

    http://www.ultimak.com/M8.htm

Right now it's more like a chin weld which I think I'm getting used to, so maybe I don't really need to do anything.

Another option would be a cheek riser. I've been looking at the Desert Warrior Products one. The crew over at M14TFL seem to like them.

    http://www.desertwarriorproducts.com/M1A-M14CheekRest.html

I may change things up in terms of the optics too. Someone posted a pic at TFL of an A.R.M.S. 18 mount with an Aimpoint T-1 and it looked like a sweet set-up.

I did just get a set of Sadlak cleaning tools. The gas cylinder wrench and cleaning drill set

and a bunch of mags from SA. I was going to the range today but it turned out to be a windy/rainy day so I'll go tomorrow when it should be nicer. The good part is my AR H2 heavy carbine buffer that I bought to go with my new LMT CQB MRP piston upper arrived today so I can take it to the range to test fire tomorrow

I just ordered a SOPMOD stock from LMT last night also to go with it.

Thankfully my ARs were registered as "assault weapons" before the cut-off in 2000 so I don't need to mess with all the bullet buttons etc.

  12. For some reason when I go to "attach file" another page comes up that says I have uploaded the 1 max file, but I cannot find any other options from there, I am stuck. oh well.

Don't hit attach file just click on the 5th icon from the right above the reply box (yellow square that looks like it has a little black mountain at the bottom) that will bring up a widow and you simply paste the URL address of the photo in.

  13. Yeah that's an excellent site! I've got some posts on there including a Benelli M4 thread in the "Shotgun Ridge" section. I don't post there that much but I've learned quite a bit reading the posts. Here's the current state of my socom. Although, I've changed the Aimpoint mount to an A.R.M.S. 22M68.
