  1. Hey all. I have a tactical styled M1 with extended mag tube and it has a few scratches here and there. I’ve been thinking about getting it Cerakoted. I looked at color samples the other day and WOW, they have a LOT to pick from. Id like to get some suggestions from you all and maybe some pics of your Cerakoted Benelli. Id also consider designs and patterns like some have had done in their firearms. What do you all think would look great on the metal parts with the black “furniture”?? Pics if ya got any please.
  2. Hey all. I have an M1 with a stock charging handle. I bought one from EBay but it is a bit too big. I was wondering what charging handle you all like and use on your M1 and M2? I have my M1 set up as a tactical type shotgun with a 21” barrel and +4 Nordic tube.
  3. I just got finished stripping it down, even taking the trigger group out, using some newfangled spray that cleans, lubes and protects on all the metal I could see. I wiped off the excess. it’s nice and clean now. Gonna dig out my dummy rounds and see if I can duplicate the problem that I was having. thanks all.
  4. If there’s some other pictures you want to see, I’ll try my best to get them. Just let me know.
  5. I got it from my best friend. He didn’t like the recoil as he was a new shotgun shooter. It sat in his safe for several years until he traded it to me for some old stereo gear I wasn’t using. He and I both probably put no more than 150 rounds thru it. Since I’ve had it, I have put exactly 150 rounds thru her. I have never done a full, thorough cleaning on it. Just wipe down and if something looked like it needed lube, I’d give it a couple drops and spread it around. That brings us to now. The failures I experienced were the only failures it has ever had. It was brand new when my buddy bought it. I’m hoping it’s just a dirty part or it needs lube. thoughts??
  6. Hey all. here is the pic. At the end of the bolt, where the shell is held and pushed into the chamber you’ll see a “hook” type part. This “hook” rotates counterclockwise as it is feeding the new shell. When I was having mis-feeds, this “hook” would stop rotating before the shell was completely seated and ready to fire. I wasn’t able to push it forward the rest of the way with my hand. I had to pull the bolt back all the way just like I was cocking it and then release it. It would then fully rotate and seat the shell and then fire. This happened probably 8-10 times. I know it hasn’t been oiled or thoroughly cleaned since changing it over to a Tactical styled shotgun. I fired 100 target rounds and then about 20 more target rounds 2 years later and then the feeding problems started.
  7. Hey all. I just remembered I posted this. I will get a picture up today as soon as I can do you’ll know exactly what I’m needing help with. talk to you soon. larry
  8. Hey all. How often should I take the bolt assembly out, take it apart, clean it and then lube it? I ask because I’ve been getting intermittent failures to fire. When releasing the bolt, the top part of the assembly that rotates after it pushes the shell into the chamber, doesn’t fully rotate and stops slightly before being completely seated. I would have to retract it by hand and release the charging handle and it would then fully rotate and seat the shell to fire. I don’t know the name of the part of the bolt I’m talking about. I can take a picture of it with an arrow if it’ll help with you being able to visualize what problem I’m describing. Just let me know. I’m wondering how often the bolt assembly and its internals should be wiped down, cleaned and lubed. Can you all give me some pointers on frequency of lubing and what kinds of oil is best to use? Aby other info you can give me will be appreciated. larry
  9. Hey all. Let’s say you get really interested in trap shooting (or other Clay Target shooting game) and you need a shotgun to do it with. Which shotgun would you pick and why?
  10. I made my own. just take some spent shells the length you want to use, make sure the shot and wadding are gone. Weigh a standard shell thats the size you are wanting to make. take the empty hulls and fill them with rice or whatever small material that will get you to the weight of the rounds you want to duplicate. I used rice. Leave a bit of room at the top and get a $10 hot glue gun from Walmart and fill the remaining space on top of the material you filled it with and let it harden. You can also put a dab of the hot glue on top of the fired primer to give you a bit of “cushion” for your firing pin. After they’re nice and dry they’ll be hard as a standard shell. You can trim the end to your wishes and you’ll end up with fairly nice practice rounds. I painted mine bright Orange so I’d never get them mixed up. I use mine to practice loading and unloading and basic operations in my M1. they serve the purpose for which I wanted them. It beats paying $12 for 2 snap caps to me. goid luck in your search.
  11. Hey All, I really like Short Barrel Shotguns, the kinds that require a TAX stamp. I don't currently have one, but am looking to doing one via FORM 1. I just haven't decided what base gun tp use. How about you guys that do own an SBS or 2 post pics of your hardware so the rest of us can enjoy it too? I like all kinds, but especially the M$. It seems to be a difficult project to complete. Please post your M4 SBS. Any other Benelli or other brands would be great to see too. Post 'em if ya got 'em guys.....please. Thanks for your time.
  12. Hey all. YES, it has sling attachment points on BOTH sides. I called Limbsaver Tech Support and explained what the problem I am having is. She told me the one I have the template for, #10810 AirTech was the proper one for my M1. I told her that I had seen comments saying this one would not fit and she put me on hold while she went to check with all the other techs. She assured me upon her return that the #10810 would fit and work fine. She said for me to order it and give it a try and if it didn't work, I could return it without any problems. I'll decide something by Monday. Thanks all for the help.
  13. Hey all. I have a Benelli M1 Super 90 with the standard black straight stock. It’s the one that has a strap attachment built in the left side. My M1 is NOT an HK labeled model. I am starting a trap league and need something to lessen felt recoil. I was told the best pad to use is the Limbsaver AirTech. I looked up on their chart and they didn’t list my Specific M1, but almost all Benelli shotguns were listed as using the #10810. I got the template and cut it out. It doesn’t match exactly. One of the holes for the screws is about 1/8” or maybe a hair more short of being right on. I don’t know if this one will fit. Can anyone help me in figuring out what recoil pad I should use and which one will work for sure? I don’t want to pay $50 for a pad that won’t fit. Any help you can give would REALLY be appreciated. Thanks all. BD
  14. Hey all. I have an M1 that has a 21 inch barrel and a +4 mag tube. It's set up for Home Defense use but I am going to use it for hunting hogs this fall. I need a sling that will allow me to carry it while walking and then get it into action quickly when a sounder of hogs comes into range. I don't have any front mounts on it now, but it wouldn't be hard to add one to my Nordic barrel clamp. What sling would you all suggest? Thanks Nala
  15. Hey all, I have an M1 that I have converted into a home defense shotgun with a 21 inch barrel and +4 tube. The only complaint I have with it, and all Benelli owners and shooters are well aware of this, is the painful recoil. It can get down right harsh when shooting home defense or police type loads in 00 Buck and slugs. I am wondering if there are other options out there to help out a bit. Are there recoil pads available that are much better than the standard factory pad that comes on it? I'm sure this pad that's on mine is NOT state of the art considering it was made over 20+ years ago. Mine is one of the M1 shotguns that is marked "Heckler & Koch - Sterling Va." Any advice or suggestions on what to look for? Thanks Nalajr
  16. MY LORD.....I thought the price for Benelli barrels was bad at $495! That's chicken feed compared to this barrel. YOWZA! I wished Benelli would give us a break out here on the prices of their stuff. There just ain't no sense in a barrel costing almost $1000 even if it is an NFA item. CONGRATS on scoring a sweet barrel PCFIVEZ. I hope you'll post pics of your sweet setup when you get it all squared away. I'd love to see the pics.
  17. Really great looking setup. I especially like the RED charging handle. I am in the market for a new handle for my M1 and can't decide what one to go with. I have Nordic components on it now and have thought of getting the BFB Handle that they sell, but I like a bit of color every now and again too. I wouldn't mind a stainless finished one or even something like the one you have. How has it worked out for you? Do you have any complaints at all on the bolt handle? That is a Briley charging handle isn't it? If not, please let me know what it is as I'd like to look into getting one. Thanks Nalajr
  18. Hey all, I have an M1 that's set up for home defense use and I am wanting to get another charging handle for it. I have a Nordic +4 tube on it now, but don't know anything about their charging handles. Can you all tell me what you have found works well and doesn't pull out easily as some of these handles do? I've read some of the posts here about certain charging handles that don't fit right and easily come out at the worst times. That is something that I definitely DO NOT want. Which charging handles should I take a look at and consider? Thanks for the time and help. Nalajr
  19. I was in the same boat you are in. I had the 24 inch barrel and wanted the 21. I went to the 3-gun forums and posted it in the classified sections. It took a couple years but I finally got a 21 inch barrel, but it was from a new M2. The M2 barrel fit just fine in the receiver, it was the forearm that was the trouble. It would not fit at all. I had to take out the DREMEL tool and grind out some material but I eventually got it to fit and work just fine. It fits just as good as it did when I got it with the 24 inch. I would like to get a new forend from an M2 to see if it would fit, but it's not a priority right now. Don't give up. You can use an M2 or the M1 barrel. You might have to buy one, those are scarce too and expensive, but in the end you'd have a nice 21 inch HD shotgun and an extra 26 inch barrel to shoot clays with if you want. Good Luck. Nalajr
  20. Hey all, I went out today to shoot my M1 with a 21 inch VR barrel and +4 Nordic mag tube. I took 100 rounds of the bulk pack Federal 7 1/2 shot and shot it all. My shoulder was definitely feeling the results of my day with my M1. What I would like is to find something that would lessen the felt recoil. Do you all know of a good buttpad replacement I could put on it? I don't know if the Comfort Tech stock would fit my M1 and if it did knowing Benelli it would cost a fortune. Do you all have any ideas for me? Has anyone else had this problem with their M1? I have had a couple suggestions that I should swap this for a good gas operated auto. That would be a last resort kinda thing and I hope I don't have to go that far. Thanks for your time. Nalajr
  21. Hey all, Just curious, what kind of prices have you seen on the M1 USED Pistol Grip stocks? I have an M1S90 with a 21 inch barrel and I just added a Nordic +4 to it and it really looks and handles nice. I have always thought about putting a Pistol Grip stock on my HD weapon, but don't know how I'd like it. I've seen a few for sale, but priced as though they were NEW. Not gonna do that. I guess the downfall of owning the best semi auto in the world is that when you want parts for it, or something added to it, you gotta pay out the wazoo for it. Anyway, what have you all been seeing out there and how do you feel about pistol grip stocks on your HD weapon? Thanks Nalajr
  22. Hey all, I am curious about unloading these full mag tubes. I just finished installing the NORDIC tube I got for myself for XMAS for my M1 with 21 inch barrel. I got the +4 which now I have a 7+1 capacity. It sure looks great too with that barrel clamp. Anyway, I was loading it up to make sure everything was ok and there were no binds or issues that would cause a problem. When I was ready to UNLOAD it, I thought I'd try what I have seen others do online instead of racking the handle back and forth 8 times and making such a racket. I put my finger in and pushed in on the lever that holds the shells in the tube. They are just held in my a small piece that holds them right on the edge of the shell, so it shouldn't be that hard. When I see the people do this online, it looks simple as can be. Well let me tell you, it is A LONG WAY from simple or easy. I swear I pushed and pushed on that edge to get the shell released and it was very hard to do. I was able to do it and get all 7 rounds out, but it took a while and now my fingers are aching something fierce from doing it. I am wondering if it is this hard to do because it is a virtually new shotgun that hasn't had maybe 25 rounds through it and that was over 10 years ago. It's been sitting in my closet, in the case for that many years. Will that ease up with shooting? I wouldn't mind using that method if it eases up considerably, but if it stays the way it is now, I'll just use the method I learned when I was a kid to unload a shotgun. Any tips for making this easier? Nalajr
  23. Hey all, I'm rigging my M1 up for Home Defense and 3-Gun and am going to add an aftermarket bolt handle. There are quite a few out there and I wanted to ask you guys which one(s) you like and have found works well for you. Any suggestions? Thanks Nalajr
  24. I'd like to find a used Nordic. That's what I wanted in the first place. I guess I'll go ahead and get one if I can't find a used one somewhere. Thanks all Nalajr
  25. Hey all, I have an M1 with a 21 inch barrel that I am wanting to make into a Home Defense shotgun and something I can try 3 gun with. I have been looking at mag tubes and seems like the TACSTAR and the Carlsons are the most affordable. I'd rather have the NORDIC, but they are $85 bucks with shipping. I can get the TACSTAR for half that. So, has anyone used one or have thoughts on them? I'd like to get your opinions if you don't mind. Also, I wouldn't mind buying a USED tube if I could find one the length I want. I would either want a +3 or +4, something that would not extend past the end of the barrel. Let me know if you have anything at nalapombu@yahooDOTcom Thanks all. Nalajr
