  1. It appears that your not swinging through the target, but covering the target up with the barrel and pulling the trigger. So your shooting behind the target. You have to swing through the target to brake it, you juust have to swing a little harder and longer until the target reappears on the right side of the right barrel. When you break 25 straight, let me know.

Keep your head down and swing thru...it does work. I busted my first ever 50 straight in my trap league last nite...shooting my HK/Benelli SBE.

  2. I am going on a high volume bird shoot in south america soon. Does anyone think I should get some spare parts in case I wear anything out? If so, which parts? And where do I ge them. The only thing I could find on the website was bolt handles.

    Thanks for any advice.

You are taking a Benelli, why would you feel you'll need spare parts? Spike is right, take two guns.:D

  3. Gents,

Not a hunter or big firearms guy other than for personal protection, but I recently inherited the following shotgun and would like to know any details on what i have and approx value.

12 ga 3 1/2" Benelli Super Black Eagle. Auto, not a pump.

Vented/ribbed barrel marked Benelli ARMI SPA Urbino Italy

Wood stock with eagle button on bottom

Marked Heckler & Koch, Sterling VA made in Italy

Stamped with some star insignias - PSF Pinto BF

Overall i would say in excellent condition.

    Thanks for any input

HK was the importer for Benelli Shotguns in the mid 1980's thru 1994 - Sterling VA -

HK and Benelli cancelled the relationship in 1994 from further importation of arms...

Benelli USA opened shop here in the U.S. afterwards...1995 - Current Operation...Benelli and Benelli USA have been owned by Beretta since 2000. The Benelli Super Black Eagle, a favorite of waterfowlers, was one of the first semi-automatic shotguns capable of firing the 2.75, 3, and 3.5 inch shotgun shells.

As for value, I would say $850-$1000 in excellant condition.

  4. Someone tell me the difference between the 24", 26", or 28" SBE II. Is it preference?, or is there a performance issue?

The difference is 2 inches between each barrel length which does not affect the guns performance or the ammunitions ballistics in any way. Barrel length is strictly a preference issue, nothing more or less.:D

  5. ^^+1

I have a SuperSport and I absolutely love it. I liked he techie look of it, and that it's kind of like my sport-bike, but in a shotty. I have a hard time choosing if I take the O/U or the SS to skeet shooting. (sigh!) :D

    2-wheel

Decisions, decisions! The horror of it all. I don't own a SS or a Legacy, though I might some day, but I finally realized I shoot my old wood stocked HK SBE better than my Vinci at the trap range...the weight I think! The SBE just swings better for me at the range.:p

  6. So I just saw a preview for tonights episode of Top Shot on the History Channel. It looks like they'll be shooting a Benelli of some sort. Couldn't tell what it was since the preview only showed it for a second. Thought you guys would want to know and maybe check it out. I know I will! Love that show.

They said it was an M2 Super 90.

  7. "I know some people believe it to be over rated."

The only reason people say Benelli's are overrated, and I've heard them all for the 22 years I've been shooting my SBE, is because they either can't afford a Benelli or they are completely "brand" friendly. (chevy vs ford deal)

I'll take the Benelli inertia action over any gas action, anytime and anyplace. That is just my opinion. Having shot Remingtons, Brownings, Berettas and Smith & Wesson, I've never had my Benelli fail me in the field unlike every one of the brands I've mentioned.

There's no reason to break it in with anything heavier than max dram 1-1/8 oz loads unless you want to.

  8. After shooting 3 cases of 12ga. shotshells per day for 5 days, you would definately notice the difference in recoil level of the intertia driven Benellis and the gas operated Remingtons. My cheek would be bleeding after 3-4 days of shooting Benellis. Here is a pic of one day's shooting at lake Guererro: 1200+ birds.

    1200dovesinMX.jpg

I seriously doubt if a gas operated Remington could survive 3cs/day for 5 days.

  9. I've been shooting an HK/Benelli SBE for 22 years now and did send it in for ejection problems after 20 years. Benelli replaced all of the internal parts and springs...au gratis.

I believe Tom Knapp had over 500,000 rounds through his M1 Super 90 before he retired it and started shooting an M2.

Keep taking care of your M1S90 and it can last your lifetime.

  10. I personally prefer shorter barrels and have been shooting them pretty well for over 30 years. A 26" Benelli SBEII is about the same length from butt to barrel tip as a 28" standard auto or O/U. Because the 3-1/2" reciever is longer than a standard 3" autoloaders reciever and as the video that tucker301 linked to explains that there is no noticable difference or advantage to a longer barrel vs a shorter barrel. Get what you feel comfortable with and you'll be happy. I also shoot a 24" 20 ga Monty and love it.

  11. So I got a new Vinci a month ago and LOVE the gun. I have been using is for trap and skeet mainly and it really fits me well. I am pretty anal about keeping my guns clean and clean it almost every time i shoot. I have put about 500 rounds through it (7-1/2 shot) and this week it stopped locking open after the last spent shell. It will cycle doubles fine and ejects perfectly but it will not lock open after last shell. I striped it down and cleaned the piss out of it, but it still has the same issue.

    Thoughts?

Have you been shooting the same ammo or have you changed what you have been shooting? The manual says to shoot 1-1/8 oz loads. I am able to cycle 1oz loads through my Vinci, but I think I just got lucky, not all Vinci's will cycle 1oz loads.

I'd suggest you check your ammo first.

  12. Do all of the different models of Benelli shotguns have the same choke thread size, meaning, will a choke that fits in one particular Benelli model fit in all Benelli models?

For the heck of it, I'm thinking about taking my M4 turkey hunting at the end of this month. In the past, I've always hunted them with a Remington shotgun or a bow. I no longer own a shotgun other than the M4, and for the last few years, I've called in turkeys for others and let them do the shooting. If I can use this M4, I just may do it -- even if it is black and sticks out like a sore thumb in the field. LOL!

There are two types of choke tubes for Benelli's...Crio and standard. The Crio chokes fit the Benelli shotguns that have Crio treated barrels. The M4 does not have a Crio treated barrel and uses the standard Benelli chokes.

  13. Hey hattles check it out,

I was trying to find some reviews on this Blind Side ammo and I found this:

    http://norcalcazadora.blogspot.com/2011/02/winchester-blind-side-nice-ammo-but.html

From what it looks like, Winchester released a limited amount of this stuff to the public around December and January because they wanted to build a field report before the 2011 Shot Show.

I hear ya on the tester's job.

The Winchester rep sent a couple of boxes to Cazadora to be field tested. No retail to the public yet. Mack's doesn't expect any until they get their new stock from Winchester sometime in August.

  14. I am going be taking a one-hour sporting clay lesson and was curious if it is normal to tip the instructor or if the lesson fee is sufficient? Any perspetive would be appreciated. The person I will be taking the lesson from is the manager of the clays facility. Thanks

My experience is that the fee is sufficient but it doesn't hurt to offer a little extra if you are satisfied with the service.

  15. You might not have been born yesterday, but you are not that well informed on this one. While I did not travel to Mack's retail store personally, there were many reports from shooters in Dec & Jan that Blind Side #2's were for sale for $19.95 per 25, and the reviews were very positive. I never saw them on the website though. Maybe a limited test run? I saw photos of the shells & boxes. Dealers have been placing Fall 2011 orders since iit was first announced in late 2010. My dealer says delivery is for Sept.

mudhen, someone was pullin your leg, but whatever! Bourjaily from Field and Stream went to Nilo Farms and shot some flighted ducks with it late last year so I see where you may have read about it and there were some pictures in the article and again in another article on Jan 2011 on Shotgun World forum complete with pictures of the packaging. http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=86&t=243614

That said, it has never been sold to the public and is set to be introduced to retail around June of this year.

Winchester didn't officially make the announcement until the 2011 SHOT SHOW.

You said: "$19.95 per 25 at Mack's most of last waterfowl season. I've got a case ordered for this season."

When I read about it I did inquire with Erin at Mack's and did find it kind of funny, after reading your post, that Mack's isn't taking any orders because they've never had it? Oh well, such the life of a duck hunter.

I do want to get some and no one has any info yet in Fresno. Could I get the name & phone number of your dealer because I'll be in Sacramento most of next week and I would like to order a case for myself. That would be much appreciated.:)

  16. Hi Everyone, I have a new to me 80sl, B4 I go out and play I'd like to give it a thorough cleaning but I can't figure out how to get the bolt out. It must be simple but it beats me! What's the secret??

I found this on ebay, it might be just what you need. It's $10.95 + $2.50 shipping.

It's an old Instruction & Parts manual - Benelli Armi Auto Shotgun :)

  17. Trick shooter Tom Knapp and Benelli part ways, Knapp to persue independent ventures.

World class exhibition shooter Tom Knapp has left Benelli USA, and is now pursuing independent endeavors including shooting performances, video projects and broadcast programs. Knapp was forced to cancel his 2010 schedule for Benelli USA following a temporary medical condition in late 2009. Benelli subsequently ended its relationship with Knapp.

“I had an excellent relationship with Benelli for nearly two decades,” said Knapp. “I built a strong, positive image with my fans, sponsors and colleagues. Now I’m quickly regaining my health and looking forward to the next phase of my career.”
