  1. Sorry pal, but Mack's had Blind Side this past season, and many gave it good reviews.

You do know they don't just invent an item and release for sale the next day, right?

mudhen, c'mon man...this is a brand new Winchester release and Mack's doesn't sell it. They never have because it's never been on the market before. I'm sure they will have it this fall when Winchester releases it.

"You do know they don't just invent an item and release for sale the next day, right?" DUH! I suspect that is why it's not on the retail shelves yet!

Sorry pal, but I wasn't born yesterday either.

This is straight off of the Winchester website:

    1/24/2011

Winchester® Ammunition is introducing one of the most innovative shotshell loads in the brand’s 144-year history....AVAILABILITY, FALL, 2011...not 2010 or 2009 but 2011...you must be mistaken or ???

  2. Can anyone tell me if the only differences in these guns is appearance? If it is true I believe I would rather have the Cordoba as my next clays gun. The sun reflects too much off of the Super Sport. Thanks for the help.

You could consider either the new Vinci Cordoba or the new Vinci SuperSport...both are black synthetic models and are offered in either 28" or 30" with 5-extended Crio choke tubes.:D

  3. Am I missing something here but from what it looks like the only difference with this new ammo is the HEX shaped steel which allows them to pack 1-3/8oz of shot into a 1-1/4oz cup.

I think they've redesigned the shotcup also. I'd like to try some myself on some early season birds.

  4. $19.95 per 25 at Mack's most of last waterfowl season.

I've got a case ordered for this season :)

That's tough to do considering Winchester is introducing it in the fall of 2011(that's later this year) and hasn't released the first box to the retail market yet.

I've read that one tester said it'll be priced in the $17 - $22 per box range. That means I'll be looking for a sale or just continue shooting my reliable Xpert loads.:D

  5. From the 2011 Shot Show

Winchester has announced a new line of steel shotshells coming this fall called "Blind Side".

    1/24/2011

Winchester® Ammunition is introducing one of the most innovative shotshell loads in the brand’s 144-year history. The new Blind Side™ ammunition combines ground-breaking, stacked HEX™ Shot technology and the new Diamond Cut Wad in the most deadly Winchester waterfowl load available. Loaded with 100 percent HEX™ Shot, you get more pellets on target, a larger kill zone and more trauma inducing pellets than ever before, meaning quick kill shots.

“This is a superior duck and goose load that we’ve spent a tremendous amount of time designing and perfecting”, said Brett Flaugher, vice president of Sales and Marketing for Winchester Ammunition. “As the industry leader in innovative new products, this product is without question, a quality product that waterfowl hunters can shoot with confidence.”

    3-1/2 inch loads in BB and #2 @ 1-5/8oz

    3 inch loads in BB and #2 @ 1-3/8oz

    Both loads listed @ 1400fps

I read a review in the latest issue of Field and Stream which said the patterns are more dense and uniform than round steel shot from 40yds in.

Will be interesting to get some and test it when it arrives.

  6. The Benelli M2 Tactical is also a great choice. It is a no-nonsense 12-gauge shotgun that is also used by police and military the world over . Like all Benelli semiautomatic shotguns the M2 Tactical is Inertia Driven. The M2 can be found for under $1200.

    M2

  7. You might even consider the Benelli M3 Convertible which the military and police all over the world depend on. This shotgun can be quickly changed from a fast cycling semi-auto for conventional loads to a manual pump action for low energy special purpose loads such as gas, beanbag and rubber bullet loads. For semi-auto action, merely rotate the selector ring 1/4 turn, push the forend forward and release the selector, to switch back to pump action simply reverse the procedure.

The M3 can be purchased for under $1300 and as low as $1100.

The Benelli M4's can run from $1450 all the way up to $1900+.

If your man intends to put a lot of accessories and gadgets on his Benelli, then I would say that the M4 is the best choice. The super dependable Inertia Driven system was a natural choice, but to fully equip a combat shotgun with night-vision scopes and other specialized equipment would add a lot of weight and could compromise the Inertia Driven system. To ensure reliability, Benelli engineers developed the ARGO system.

  8. I was at the gun shop today and they had two old model sbes with the flat ribs, they were pretty beat up but actions were smooth as silk, blueing gone stocks dinged and scratched, asking $599 for one $699 for other, good prices or not, what problems did these older models have?

Prices are in line. You can refinish the stock and forearm for the price of materials and a checkering tool and I would suggest refinishing the barrel and reciever in Dura Coat which you can either do yourself or send out which would cost approx $125 for one color or $225 + for a camo finish and I believe that would include the stock and forearm. I used Jim's Gun Supply out of Wisconsin to refinish my HK SBE barrel and my Sig P226 slide which cost me $75+s/h. I was extremely pleased with the work and found them using internet search.

  9. Personally, though I'm a guy, I think a gift certificate is a wonderful idea...it would be especially thoughtful to include a Benelli video and/or a product brochure from the his favorite gun shop/Benelli dealer. It would still mean a Benelli as a gift and would be very respectful of you to allow him, your knowledgeable gun guy, to pick the model of his choice...a win, win for both of you.

I really would suggest that if you like the M2, which is a very good choice by the way, DO NOT get it in a tactical configuration. Get the black synthetic M2 with the ComforTech and a 26" barrel or the M2 American with a standard stock configuration which is generally priced $200-$300 below the Comfortech models. I've seen them on GunBroker.com and elsewhere for as low as $899 and would also leave some room for him to purchase a steady grip stock as an option for his tactical shooting. That way, he and yourself could also shoot clays or game if you like and still be able to add on to it for home defense.

Lastly, if he is commited to tactical only, then buy the tactical model.

Either decision you make will be a good one and I hope you both enjoy your new Benelli as much as the rest of us do. Myself, I'm a Benelli lifer.

  10. From everything I've read, seen and heard the Extrema2 is an excellant shotgun. That said, I'll take the ultra reliable Benelli Inertia System over any gas system, any day and under any circumstances. I've been shooting my HK/Benelli SBE since 1989 and still shoot it today, although not as much since I got my Vinci. I've never had a breakdown or failure that I wasn't able to correct on the spot...which was only once, a broken "clevis" pin which retains the shell extractor...I repaired it in about 10 minutes after I p/u the extractor spring and the extractor...was still able to use the unbroken portion of the clevis pin and continued shooting. It was finally replaced when I sent the gun into Benelli for replacement of all springs after 20 years. It operates as good now as it did in '89.

The ease of maintenance and the simplicity of the design along with the non-gas Inertia System is simply more reliable and better overall in my opinion. I have not shot an SBE ll but I have shot the Vinci and the M2 and the ComfortTech stock has certainly reduced the felt recoil over my wood stocked SBE.

  11. Benelli Triple Sporting, ta chansen och vinn det absolut hetaste på halvautomatmarknaden - Benelli Vinci. Oavsett resultat har du chansen att vinna.

OR: Benelli Triple Sporting, take the chance and win the absolute hottest on half-automatic market-Benelli Vinci. Whatever the results, you'll be entered to win.

    check out the color...brown?

  12. Hi i am going to purchase a Super Black Eagle II in camo here in Ohio before turkey season starts April 18. I was trying to figure out who the cheapest online seller would be or if you live in Ohio who the cheapest seller is around the Northwest area of Ohio? Anyone know where i could get one for $1400 or cheaper. I found them on midsouthshooterssupply.com for $1400.

The question is are you looking for an SBEII American or the SBEII with the comfortech?

My suggestion is to make your purchase through Gunbroker.com. I've been buying and selling with them for 3 years and if you have the time to wait for a deal...I think you can save some good money, I know I've saved a lot of $ over buying local.

As an example, I bought my new Vinci for $1050 + $35 shipping + 60 FFL Dros = $1145. I just recently purchased a new Franchi Highlander for the same costs as my Vinci...like I said, if you have the time to wait for a good deal, they are there.

  13. I posted this in another thread but it wasn't getting any play so I thought I'd make its own thread. Curious as to others Crio-choke experience, see below.

"Picked up a 24" M2 Camo/Comfortech 12g about three weeks ago. I've been busting crows with it and plan on using it for turkey this spring. So far it's been running like a champ.

One thing of note however, after cleaning it this weekend I noticed the modified Crio choke I've been using for crows has chrome flaking off near the leading edge of the choke. Not sure what to make of this with less than 75 rounds on it. Before anyone asks, no, it has been tight the whole time and at no time unscrewed or loosened to allow damage to occur to it.

Anyone else with any experience here?"

Call Benelli customer service and relate your concerns to them. More than likely they will go ahead and replace the choke tube at no cost to you.

  14. where do you live? I live in northwest ohio and the super vinci hasn't shipped to stores yet? i wish it had because i would buy one in a heartbeat. just wondering where you live to get a general idea of when it will hit stores. or if anyone knows when it will in ohio that would be great!

Gunbroker.com has 21 Super Vinci's listed on their website right now. Priced from $1425-$1599.

  15. well I actually contact virginia arms for the M2 American but they informed that it was a limited run and Benelli in not taking any more orders of it. For M2 Field, they quoted me $1239.99, do you guys think its reasonable?

    @hattles I will be interested once I find a M2 American

@fikester I don't own the gun, just read people complaining about the gel pads getting damaged with tiny amont of oil that soaked in to the stock from the receiver. and yes you are right that everyone has his own opinion about a gun based on their experience.

Have you ever looked on Gunbroker.com? Very reputable source. I have been buying and selling thru them since 2008. Some great prices on new and used guns. I bought my Vinci for $1050
