  1. http://www.cracked.com/article_18683_7-scientific-reasons-zombie-outbreak-would-fail-quickly.html For your reading pleasure....
  2. I had no idea mine was worth as much as the shotgun!
  3. Do you have a model of a Zero watching the other side?
  4. Hopefully you mean proficient, and not professional. I am barely one and by no means the other... Anyway, I should have said the HK .45 (USP Elite) It may have something to do with the 6 inch barrel... This is in comparison to my Kimber Raptor and Springfield Armory Operator .45s.
  5. No, I can't say that I had the best of everything...but I can say that I had the best that was offered at the time the decision was made to purchase item "x". Like anything today, equipment and technology is outdated almost by the time it hits the store shelves...it is hard for the military to keep up without spending an exponentially larger amount of money. A compromise has to be made somewhere. So, sorry for mistaking your comment for azz-hattery. I think the DoD is doing the best that they can. (Trying to get a wheeled vehicle to do 60MPH with the crew in relative comfort and withstand a high order blast from a 6 pack of EFPs is a daunting task.)
  6. Straightest shooting pistol out of the box that I have ever seen. I'm a pretty poor pistol shot, and this thing made me look like I knew what I was doing.

    a real topic

is degrading from all the flash photography these things are seeing...
  8. I've had one since 2005...carried it for an entire year in IZ, and it never failed to perform. Of course, it was issued while I was in the Army, but I've heard that doesn't mean anything.
  9. If I had to choose but two...I'd keep my Kimber Ultra Raptor, and my H&K USP Elite. Those .45 rounds sure get heavy though...
  10. Or you can see if this is still available. http://www.benelliusa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21677
  11. You can usually find on on gunbroker for around $150 or so...
  12. "Discharging the weapon should release the bayonet from the abdominal cavity..." That's what they told me in the Army...as I thought to myself, "If I still have a round left, I'll not be using my bayonet." In Iraq, the bayonets stayed in the arms room...cold steel assaults are most likely a thing of the past.
  13. gunbroker.com if they have one, or tacticalshotgunner.com if you want to wait for them to get it in stock.
  14. I have ordered several things from them, and although they have delivered on everything, all of the stuff was out of stock when I ordered it. I'd go with EGW if you can find what you want there. Their customer service is AWESOME!
  15. Yes, they are tapped and threaded...just use a small phillips head screwdriver to push out the plastic plug from the inside of the receiver.
  16. Looks like you can take out the rear blade/adjustment assembly, but the sight foundation itself is there to stay unless you want to do some metal work. (There may be some set screws under the sight assembly, but I seriously doubt it.) As I look at mine, it appears that a very small roll pin acts as the pivot point/securing mechanism...a small roll pin punch should do the trick. (I wouldn't try anything but a roll pin punch unless you like scratches on that pretty barrel.) Hope this helps....
  17. Purchased: Benelli M4 w/ Ti tube, C-Stock, and EOTech EOLAD Sight Benelli SBE II w/ 26" Barrel, Slug Barrel, and SG Stock H&K USP Elite Ruger Mk III Leupold MK IV CQB for my AR Numerous accessories... Sold: Benelli Ultra Light Mossberg 930 Marlin 30-30 Walther P-22 Sig Sauer P232 S&W 629 My safe is pretty full at this time....may have to invest in another one, as well as a new house to store it in.
  18. I concur....if you get a Benelli OEM part, then rock on! I feel look a b00b for paying a lot more for mine.
  19. The picture doesn't even look like a Benelli OEM extension... The internally threaded end looks like a separate piece that is attached....the Benelli OEM is a flare of the same tube that is threaded.
  20. I'd like to see the stocking...or, for that matter, the leg that fits in it!
  21. Understanding that opinions vary, and generally based on what equipment the submitter owns (I am no exception), I will submit that I had to send around 20 percent of my company's CompM4's to the Rock Island boy's at Balad for various reasons...chief among them was a busted power knob. (The only higher percentage was the Trijicon ACOG) Knowing the physics behind dropping a 9 pound weapon on a 9 ounce sight will tell you that most won't survive...I think that the EOTech has less stuff to break, although there is a trade-off with battery consumption and size. If we take general a$$-hattery out of the picture, most sights will never see the abuse, and then it becomes a matter of what you want to look through, and look at.
  22. I've use both...and they are both good optics. The Aimpoint will be a little smaller and will allow for more vision around the sight. The EOTech is a lot larger, but a little more robust. The battery life on an Aimpoint is incredible when compared against an EOTech, and I also prefer Aimpoint's power knob versus the up/down push buttons that EOTech offers. I prefer EOTech's mounting method versus the Aimpoint, and no optional equipment is required for them besides a Picatinny rail. The other key difference is that the EOTech utilizes a red dot/crosshair combination for varying POA while the typical Aimpoint uses a simple red dot. (Hence the longer battery life.) In the end, they are both capable sights. The biggest reason for using them is that it is easier and faster to place a red dot on the target vice lining up two seperate ends of a sight.
  23. It is a red laser; daylight visibility. The IR version is only available for LEOs and military. I am a civilian now; retired military. Although I can't let go of the Army stuff....a see no need for NODs or IR lasers.
  24. I am very happy with it...it provides not only a 922® compliant part, but also a solid platform for both my grip-pod and flashlight. A bit pricey, but you do get what you pay for.
