  1. At the moment I will mostly shoot it and keep to reversable mods. Currently working on the shell stop, it is way too tough.
  2. Here's a picture I took when I disassembled it over the weekend, as you can see the nut itself screws off and slides off the tube. I was told that all I need do if I want to put a nordic extension on this for an extra round is to cut the tube at the threads, a Nordic or other extension will just thread on normally from there.
  3. Only the marines in question where doing a 3gun match with them. That would infact be very cool. In other news, I ran 9 and 7.5 shot through this gun with zero problems, also some slugs and buckshot, it eats everything I throw at it.
  4. Well I finally got it home: A weird thing, this isn't a normal capacity tube with an extension, the whole tube seems to be one single piece. This puts a crimp in my plans to replace the now non-existent extension with a Nordic... Also loading of rounds is a bit stiff, anything that can be done to help that along, it's stiffest at the last part of inserting a cartridge, gotta give it a real shove then, not conductive to fast loading...
  5. But whoops! It wasn't an M4 as I had been thinking about for a really long time. For some reason it lost its lack of appeal to me. I dunno maybe it had todo with youtube! Search benelli M4 and you barely find anything but people empyting their mags and going "**** yeah I got an M4, sandbox etc." I think it left an impression on me and I subconsciously associated the M4 with bland boring 10 sec videos. Meanwhile if you look for M1/M2s you'll find a whole lot more videos of people actually using their guns in something else than shooting in a gravel pit. Hickok45 for instance does a whole lot of impressive shooting with this 20 year old Benelli M1S90, Tom Knapp had an M1S90 as well. And M2s are in use all kinds of 3gunning and the like as well. So probably being swayed by what I saw I went looking for an M1 or M2 instead. I held an M2 in the store and it was fantastic, even with a 28" barrel it felt shorter and lighter somehow than me 29" Remington 870. Anyway just last week I found a very lightly used M1 Super 90 with a 21" VR barrel and factory 7 shot magtube. Pictures are big and the forum only allows 2 pics at a time so here are links: http://i.imgur.com/yYtoM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/vN3Lv.jpg http://i.imgur.com/oyqzv.jpg http://i.imgur.com/O5tdI.jpg Sadly I haven't gotten it yet, but sometime next week it should be here. Really though I wish there more videos of M4s being used, by people who know how to use them, for something else than magdumping. Like a competition or something, I've seen maybe 5 videos total like that, in a sea of crap.
  6. Is it perhaps possible to modify the forestock to make it mate with the receiver?
  7. Does this also apply to the forestock? I really like the M1 forestock over the M2 forestock, it's my main cosmetic issue with an M2.
  8. Nobody knows? Anyone know if the M2 Comforttech stock would fit on an M4 then?
  9. I'm wondering if anyone here knows if you can put an M1 stock set on an M2 shotgun?
  10. Now if you could only fit a magwell to that and make it accept box magazines.
  11. I figured the M4 had an automatically adjusting gas system so it could cycle light loads and heavy loads both without there being any issues like this.
  12. I really like that stock as well, I would say it's far more practical and useful than a pistol grip stock.
  13. I'd be real interested if Mesa Tactical decided to make another urbino stock except without a pistol grip. Now that'd be interesting.
  14. This conflicts with what I've heard elsewhere, I thought the 11707s had the type of cylinder with a notch for only one position (fully extended)? Hence why the notched cylinders where valuable.
  15. I see, when I talk about the stock tube I refer to the tube (or is a cylinder) with notches on it for various positions of the collapsing stock. Just to make sure there is no confusion.
  16. I dunno who Kip is. But this is how I see it: I'm european and I am planning to buy an M4, I can only get one with a telescoping stock, the same one I read americans rave about and want to pay lots of money for. So you can imagine my delight when I found out people in the US are willing to pay $600 for the stock and $200 for the stock tube. Thats a pretty damn good way for me to get a lot of money back on my M4 when I put a regular field stock on it! Now it looks like this dream is crushed.
  17. So is this the end of those 600 dollar stocks and 200 dollar tubes then?
  18. I thought it was a cylinder in those guns that had a regular non-swappable choke, while the guns that come with screw in chokes ship with a Mod. choke. Not sure though, but all the guns I've seen for sale with permanent chokes have been cylinders.
  19. How do they differ from regular M4s? Here in europe they're only selling M4s as "Super 90s".
  20. Well I talked to a shop who has a Benelli M4 and it's got swappable chokes and a telescoping pistol grip stock. 2050 euros, thats a pretty good price over here. I'm not sure if it'd be illegal or not for an american to buy the stock if I wanted to swap it later for a regular non-PG stock. Also somebody wondered where in europe I am, I'm in Finland to be more precise. I can't answer PMs yet as was mentioned. BTW has anyone done anything like this? In order to get 8 in the tube:
  21. Well I am looking at a tactical gun for IPSC and such, it's more that I would like a tactical gun that can do more stuff, in addition to being that. It's why I place an importance of the model having swappable chokes, also found out Briley sells barrel extensions that should fit an M4 amongst other models (screws into the barrel like a choke, sounds interesting). I know the Fabarm Sat-8 has them and if I cold get my hand son a UK model I'd have one with a 24" barrel, that'd be quite versatile. Also here in europe the M4 models all come with the full tubes standard, no 5 rounders exist AFAIK. If there are any limitations (for hunting and such) guns are usually shipped with an easily removeable block in the tube. I'm honestly not sure what to expect this gun to cycle though, some say their benelli cycles everything, even skeet loads. Another gun I just started looking at was the Benelli M2 Practical, it's 1950 euros vs. 2070 for no M4 so no big difference in price here as there is in america. It also comes with ghost ring sights. I also understand that the ghostring sights are inferior at close range, but I expect some slug shooting to be done, both for fun and in ranges (but I expect most targets will be up close).
  22. I have some questions, for instance what kind of front sight does the Benelli come with? Is it a fiber, plain iron post or tritium insert? Are the posts easily swappable? Also I'm seeing some mention of +1 and +2 extensions. I though the M4 took 7+1+1 if you used the ghost load trick. Can you further extend it to take 8 or 9 in the tube, or are these people using versions of M4s that have had magtube limitations imposed on them? All the M4s available where I would buy them have no mag limitations so I am thinking maybe this whole +1 and +2 extension biz would be of no use for me.
  23. I'm not a rich guy no but if I save for a long time and am patient I suppose I should be able to afford either of them come 7-8 months from now. Sadly no local shops I know of has the Fabarm or the M4, there is one shop in Finland that has the M4 and another one that has the Fabarm, both are far away from me. I held a fellow club members M4 once a few years ago but I have no solid impression of it as I only held it briefly and never fired it. I'm not a big fan of pistol grips on shotties so the Fabarm might a little lead there in that it can be had with a regular stock from factory. I haven't seen this for the M4 as a factory option in Finland, but I know the stock exist because I saw one on a german webshop, but that particular model also had a barrel without swappable chokes, while the models with PG stocks had swappable chokes for some reason.
