Might as well use a baseball bat for self defense if you are not going to keep a firearm loaded. It is useless empty and in a high stress sleep fogged state of mind having it unloaded with a mag nearby "ready to go" is hoping for the best.... hope is not a plan.

Is cerakote a pretty durable finish? I've never had anything with it having been used as the finish?

Helped sight in one the other day and I was pleasantly surprised with its performance. Was really impressed with the light recoil. Shooting Fed 55gr ball ammo it grouped pretty good. The only thing I disliked was the fact that you would need a chin weld on the stock to use any optic you would mount.
