  1. I am not saying it did. I do know that after 6 rounds , I had a 12moa shift to 6 o clock. This went away once the weapon cooled...or immediately , if I loosened and retightened the retaining cap, which was tighter than originally, indicating that the barrel had elongated and tension was being applied to the barrel hanger in greater amount.

Would the steel mag tube grow at the same rate as the barrel? Doubtful. It doesn't get as hot as fast. Still a curious test.

Im not doubting your thoughts on this. I am simply interested in this. Had never thought a mag tube would be a variable.

Your thoughts on this are VERY eye opening.

The barrel is expanding due to the heat. The titanium is less effected by heat, if the tube is a variable, this is it.

  2. Thanks!

I know going from 18.5" to a 14" barrel doesn't sound like a lot "on paper", but just moving from low ready to target, and handling the weapon in general...it's literally like comparing my SUV now to the Z06 corvette I used to have. Yeah, they weigh similar (CX5, couldn't get 100% away from sportiness, even if I needed AWD and practicality) and have 4 tires...but damn!

I installed a TTI black safety, and it is now my favorite of the breed.

I am waiting until I take it home to install the Surefire/IWC combo and the H2/Scalarworks combo, but this thing is awesome.

Oh, and the barrel is re-finished where they chopped it. NOT bare metal. The shop said they have seen this on more recent SBS M4's (circa polymer trigger-guard). I however already dropped in my OEM metal one that I bought from a poster here, earlier. SO it's G2G :)

Very sweet. A 1911 gunsmith buddy has a few SBSs. Chopping the barrel 4” makes a huge difference

  3. Probably a silly question but here it goes. Of all the sites that talk about 922r compliance, has there ever been a Benelli owner that has had there weapon confiscated by a federal agent or any other agency, broken down and had weapon parts checked part for part in order to gain compliance? I'm sure there could be a lot of "what if" answers. I'm looking for a direct answer to the question.

    Blessings...

    No

i know know a guy who works at the ATF

He stated they do not have the resources, energy or desire to track down 922r violations

Think of them as “add on” charges

that is all, do what you will, I don’t care

As for me, I don’t think I will give anyone fuel for a fire.

I like my butt exactly as it is, I would not care much for prison

  4. In retrospect I wish I would have titled this thread "A&S trigger question" instead of "A&S trigger problems"

Because as it turned out, there was no problem with the A&S trigger guard....except maybe superior fit and closer tolerances...

I just got back from Cabella's where I tried the action of every M4 they had in stock. They ALL were capable of charging the bolt back after the hammer had dropped and was put on safety. BUT They all did so with varying degree's of difficulty.

One of them cycled perfectly no matter if it was on safety or not, the others all stopped about half "chuck" but could be forced with varying degree's of difficulty. Kinda wish Benelli would have just locked the feature out all together..instead of "some do and some dont"...

I don’t see it as a problem. We all learn the anomonalies of weapons at some point.

I thought the same exact thing a while ago

  5. A&S is not a superior part in any way. The reported problems is a perfect example.

No poblems with the part at all.

the issue is a KNOWN anomaly with the Benelli, NOT a trigger guard.
