A little teaser.  This is shiny, final version will be sand blasted, I'll try and get a photo of a blasted one this weekend.  Also, likely to reduce the wall thickness to take weight down a bit more.  But as it is, it is the same as OEM.  Doing more tests this weekend.

Went with “volcano” knurl which has a dimple at the peak of the knurl to reduce sharpness. It feels good.

That looks really nice.  Thanks for taking the time to develop this.

I realize I don't have many posts or feedback on this forum, but I have a ton on ARFCOM under the same User Name.

I prefer discreet PayPal (gift option or add 4% to cover fees), but will accept USPS money orders.

For the quickest response, please claim the item in the thread, and send an email to arrange payment and shipping. As these items are cross posted, the timestamp of the post/email/PM will be used to determine the right to buy.

    Thanks for looking.

  3. I modify the Limbsaver buttpad to allow the receiver extension to pass inside the buttpad. It's as simple as drilling out the approriate size hole in the buttpad. I modify the Noveske brackets by cutting them. The only parts needed are the ends with the additional mount positions. The single fastener is all that is needed to hold each end in place. Bolting the pad to the two pieces of the Noveske plate keeps everything rigid. Loctite all the things.

    Thanks for the detailed response.

That seems simple enough - I might go down this path too.

  4. Time for something a little different. Put this one together for a guy. Built off of a factory 11791 dark earth model. Threw a whole slew of top shelf parts at it like;

    OEM Collapsible Stock

    Noveske/Limbsaver Buttpad

Doesn't the Noveske/Limbasaver Buttpad prevent the stock from fully collapsing? Or are you modifying them to make it work?

Are you modifying the Noveske/Limbsaver Buttpads to allow the OEM collapsible stock to fully collapse? The factory Benelli buttpad has a hole on its backside to allow the stock to fully collapse. Are you somehow doing the same with the Noveske/Limbsaver?

  5. Time for something a little different. Put this one together for a guy. Built off of a factory 11791 dark earth model. Threw a whole slew of top shelf parts at it like;

    OEM Collapsible Stock

    Noveske/Limbsaver Buttpad

    IWC MOE QD Sling Mount

    FFT Trigger, painted black

    FFT disconnector

FFT Wolff trigger pack spring kit

    FFT OEM Reproduction handguards, black

DMW oversized safety, modified spring weight

    TTI Shell Elevator, painted black

TTI stainless bolt knob, painted black

    GG&G oversized bolt release

Carriercomp full length titanium dark earth magazine tube, Wolff Spring and Carriercomp Follower

Ava Tactical Mod 1 mount, painted dark earth

IWC M600 backbone light body painted dark earth

Surefire KE2-A 500 lumen output head, painted dark earth

Surefire Scout tailcap, machined to remove the shroud, then painted in dark earth (including the plastic locking ring)

Meprolight Night Sights, new front sight nut

Scalarworks top rail, painted dark earth

OEM aluminum trigger guard, painted dark earth

With this build, I swapped a lot of parts out that I have on hand that are NP3+ coated to add to the corrosion resistance, ease of cleaning, and smoothness of operation. While it's not as smooth as a full H2O Extreme build, it's pretty close. Parts that were visible from the exterior were then painted on just the visible areas. Such as the trigger, the shell release button and the shell elevator.

    Some of the parts swapped out for NP3+ ones;

    Trigger Pin

    OEM Hammer

    Hammer Spring Cap

    TTI Shell Elevator

    FFT Disconnector

    Trigger Bushing

    Safety Detent

    Disconnector Plunger

    Shell release button

    Breech Latch Pin

    Recoil Tube Plunger

    Bolt

    Extractor Claw

    Extractor Claw Pin

    Firing Pin

    Firing Pin Retainer

    Carriercomp Magazine Follower

Three piece front handguard retainer spring

I sent the aluminum trigger guard, the rear sight housing and elevation deck, front sight shroud, the aluminum portion of the collapsible stock, IWC MOE sling mount, the Ava Tactical light mount, IWC backbone light body, Surefire tailcap, Surefire KE2-A light head, rear handguard hanger and the Scalarworks top rail in to be painted in the dark earth color. I'm not a huge fan of the dark earth color, but overall it looks pretty awesome.

  6. IOR/RMR production is in full swing. First production batch will be done this Friday and sent to anodizing. Programming for IOR/Micro is done, and it goes onto the same machine this Monday. Screws are finished and will be back from Black Nitrdiding next week and then sent to Nylok (they usually turn things around in a few days. Packaging is being finalized now.

February is looking pretty good barring anything unforeseen.

That's exciting news! I sold my BOR/RMR in anticipation of the IOR release, but now I'm having trouble deciding if I want to go with the Micro or RMR version. I can see the advantages of each (as you pointed out above), so it may just come down to aesthetics. Can you post a picture of each from the side (profile view)?

  7. Marcy is doing much better as of late with periodic checkups.

If you would like a mass produced CNC lathe titanium version that is available most of the time, FFT makes one. The machining isn't as nice nor is the color match, but it'll get the job done. The carriercomp units are hand made on a old school lathe. Finding qualified staff to operate an old school manual lathe is becoming more difficult at the price point that we're accustom to. Plus you run in to all the trouble of hiring employee's thanks to Government. I imagine their shot is filled with long spiraling titanium chips from profiling the titanium tube stock down to what we're accustom to seeing. The threading on the titanium tubes is nothing short of perfection.

Carriercomp has stated they want to get back in to production of other accessories; but at most can see they're operating at full capacity and still have backorders of 6-7 months.

OpHow much money does CC generate from m4 parts sales?

How much does it take for 2 people to pay bills and buy food?

How long has carrier comp been in business?

Raise your hand if you think the only things coming out of his shop are for the benelli, or even civilian consumption? Do you remember when he bought a digitally controlled device to properly air harden his a2 combination Ti bolt handles? How many did he sell? 1, 200? Do you all have a clue what that animal cost him? Do you think he just mothballed it afterwards?

There are a ton of blanks in this puzzle that a bit of digging and critical thinking will uncover.

    Also of note...their location.

There are just too many things here that fly in the face of what most everyone is presuming about this company.

Our troops. First. Last. Always. Thanks for your service, Kip.

*kip as on occasion made his and his wife's medical history and issue public. They are both, however, doing well. Contact them for more info.

What MIGHT a marine who served actively for 22 years be doing with a machine shop complete with his own air hardening/tempering digitally controlled ovens, lathes, and the ability to machine Ti to 1/10,000th of an inch be doing that has kept him in business since 2008 selling maybe 2/3 of the raw product he allots for tubes because he's so ocd that he has multiple wind chimes made out of the rejects that maybe got a few thousand off? His benelli parts manufacture is a hobby, passion, and generosity to this community, looking at the figures.

I hope these two posts weren't directed towards me. I've never had a problem with waiting on high quality parts.

  8. I've also been patiently waiting for a charging handle. It's the only item remaining to complete my build. That is, if a build can ever truly be "complete." :) With companies like AVA and Scalarworks bringing out improved designs, I keep upgrading my upgrades...
