  1. I spoke to Briley when I made my order. They have a lot in stock because they've geared up for the beginning of the 3-gun sport season. There is a lot of overlap between 3-gun and tactical uses. Many of that sports needs has helped the tactical shotgunner out.
  2. You all have convinced me! I'm going carbon fiber. Silver or black ends on an H20...? I like the above pictures and hope to love the weight savings.
  3. I bought a 11794 this month, and I think I've pieced together what I need for the 5-position collapsible stock. I hope to confirm once all the parts arrive. Have you considered looking for the 5-position one? It doesn't look as cool as the skeleton one. But the extra positions ought to be nice. I wonder if it's the way forward though. http://www.benellidefence.it/products Any rumors that the 3-position is being discontinued?
  4. I just made an order here. Still showing in stock. https://www.eurooptic.com/Benelli-M4-Standard-Synthetic-Stock-81041.aspx
  5. Thanks for posting that spreadsheet. I took a closer look at my FFT mag tube. It's steel (H20) but still lighter than the factory tube and limiter. So it's going on before the class.
  6. Oh, and here's the instructor's class schedule. I've heard great things about him. He's based in Ohio but also has Dallas on his schedule. Some great advanced classes. https://www.activeresponsetraining.net/upcoming-classes
  7. I plan to try out my new M4 for the first time at the end of July. It's my first shotgun, and I'm going through a course in on Sept 12. I've got a selection of bird shot to try. Fortunately, I've got enough of the higher load bird shot for the class. If the gun cycles the lighter varieties I found, then I may try to stock up on them for the class. This forum has been great. And I'm glad to see this discussion in particular. I very concerned about recoil. My old body doesn't handle new tricks like it used to. So I thought about letting the heavy gun get even heavier. But I'll reconsider that. Whatever nimbleness I can have for the long training day may be more important, as you all have said. Maybe I should ditch the metal side saddle for the long day and not worry about picking out fancy forearms yet. I've already got an elastic saddle on the stock. I'm pretty sure I should go ahead and install the extended mag tube. Do you all think I should wait until after the long day in Sept to do that? I'm sure plenty of the other guns will have less than 7-round mags, and I'm sure we'll be doing forced reloads sometimes anyway.
  8. Have either of you got a feeling for the DPM springs yet? I've been thinking of ordering a set.
