  1. I have the HLX on most my long rifles, but once I experianced the modlite difference I been itching to get some.
  2. The OKW head is more focused and intense, its more for long range outdoor. The PLHv2 is better for Home Defense and indoor, has more spill to the sides less blinding against white walls. You can interchange the head between several style bodies also if you want to use it as an EDC pocket light with the hand held body when the guns are in storage.
  3. Might want to look into Modlite, they use Surefire mounts, tail caps, and switches, but way better performance.
  4. The Surefire Tape switches in particular don't flow full power to the high output lights. Also the Streamlights aren't bad, but they aren't Modlite or Cloud Defensive good, and are made in China. Lumens aren't all that matter, so while the Streamlights have high lumen, their Candela is often less than stellar. I have Streamlights, lots of them because they adopted 18650 rechargables YEARS before some other companies, and have great flashlights for everyday use. All lights can fail, and Streamlight has an amazing warranty, never ask me questions, always send new light. Outside of professional use I always recommend Streamlight, best performance per dollar under $200
  5. By notching the handguard, you referring to grind big off some of the grooves so the switch lays flush to the handguards better right?
  6. Was also thinking of using this to mount the modbutton to the handguards. Modlite ModButton Lite MLOK Adapter – Modlite Systems
  7. I was thinking of taking my handguard and maybe mounting that IWC rail section to the right side with some washers on the back side for support, so i could use the Modlite switch or the Cloud REIN switch there, since nether were designed to be attached to a flat surface
  8. that answers my questions about the above rail. Ya I know alot of the tape switches have issues, but it is a hell of alot nicer with recoil of a shotgun than a holding a tail button or hot button, though you did mod yours for less thumb abuse. I also am very versed in the lasers, lights, switches etc from the AR world. I have the IWC buttstock QD, the IWC Scout mount and the picatinny rail for it. but sadly the quality switches would need to mount to a rail, cause as you said tapes suck. but with regular handguards the only rail is way forward on the IWC. And I planned to use the 18650 body because i can run the light on the right side of the gun without barrel shadowing, so it sits correctly in the pelican case.
  9. Is that the Briley rail? Also that the 4.5" or 7" Modlite button? Also looks like an Arisaka scout mount? How you like the rail? Is it a pain to assemble/break down the shotgun?
  10. I was hoping to get a reply from you, since you are the M4 Guru here. I have over a dozen 18650 Streamlight handheld/Weapon lights I was going to use a HL-X light, but realized that the M4 SBS deserves more class, then I been throwing around the ideal of a Modlight with the Surefire tapeswitch on the OEM handguards. My other idea was either modlite switch on the IWC picatinny or Cloud Defense REIN with its switch on the IWC picatinny rail. But part of me is wondering if i'd be better with a rail vs the IWC. I'm so torn.
  11. So I got the IWC scout mount, and I’m curious what everyone is doing for the remote switch and light setups. Pics would be great. Not sure if I would be better with a rail. I was thinking running the Cloud Defensive REIN with switch on the opposite side picatinny rail but it’s pretty far forward then.
  12. This is going to sound REALLY strange, but what is the length end to end on that case Beretta gives you?
  13. That is a HARD choice, if you have no suppressor, I'd go with that first. The price will be about the same either way, if not slightly cheaper for the Suppressor.
  14. First, so you know, I also own another Benelli M4 with the full 18.5" barrel that I am waiting on some 922r parts and a 7rnd Mag tube. Long guns and houses don't go together super well for maneuverability, also the longer it is, the better leverage the criminal has on wrestle it from you, Also will start to spread a bit sooner than the longer barrel will. If I need more than 5/6 slugs or buckshot, I should have practiced more or grabbed an AR for defence. Most my rifles and shotguns get shortened with Form-1, where I live even when hunting there in NO way you can shoot past 100yds because how thick the forests are, and even 10" barreled rifles can drop game at that range. Plus on my rifles, all the barrel I don't have range to benefit from, I can put on a suppressor and it not be horribly long overall. Then there is the whole cool factor thing. They make bigger fireballs, bangs, usually look cooler, draw in more convo at the range, etc.
  15. Mine took 25 days on efile to Form-1, its super easy and fast. The biggest pain is getting the fingerprints, here everything is weird cause Covid, and if you know how, you can roll your own prints, ATF resource page you can request the LEO fingerprint forms, then get ink pad, watch some youtube.
  16. Yep just the barrel, and the E-Form 1 is SUPER easy, I got the barrel off GunBroker, seemed to be the best price.

    M4 Picture Thread

Bought a second Benelli just to get the stock for my SBS. Form 1 took 25 days. Excuse the dog hair lol.

    LE M4

I just want to point out, doing an E-Form 1 to make a regular M4 into a 14"SBS is about $3k total, but only takes about 30 days if you file as an individual. Form 4 (transfer) have to be done old school paper, and take about 300-360 days to get your tax stamp right now.
  19. Some brands have a longer or shorter forcing cone. But more research it looks like Benellis are short and tighter than some others.
  20. Well here is why I am planning on doing this with my M4, I just bought a SECOND M4, to get the collapsible stock people scalp. The only i bought last month has a barrel with chokes (not so tactical) so as i swap the stocks, the choke barrel is coming off to put on a 14" barrel when I form 1 SBS the first M4, and the second will get a standard stock like the M4 #11703 (pic below) and the choked barrel with lengthened forcing cone. Not pnly that but the M4 is a better shotgun than basically all others.
  21. Well there is the patterning of shot as Morton stated. There is also smoother recoil since a longer more tapered forcing cone the shot doesn't slam into it as hard, less recoil and shot deformity. I did find this article about an hour ago that seems to hint that Benellis sound as if its a big improvement. Shotgun Test: How an Altered Forcing Cone Can Improve Pellet Patterns (outdoorlife.com)
  22. Has anyone had the forcing cone lengthened on an M4? Not sure if these shotguns benefit from it as much as my Mossbergs did.
  23. I REALLY like my Mossberg 590A1 as far as pumps go, have been wondering if I should get a Supernova
  24. Yes, also have one for when I travel with my Walther Pistols.
  25. it’s the Case Club 3gun case. It has “plugs” you pull out, you trim any extra foam out you need to to fit, can also trim some of the plugs to put back to fill empty spots like I did the Barrel area since first pic you seen. There are perforated accessory areas you trim out around the main plug to fit things, there were 2 buttstock lengthening sections also, cut one and the 14” LOP stock fit. The cases with lid and bottom storage come with a foam layer you lay between them so they don’t chafe in transportation.
